Ronald McDonald's Elegy
Haven’t you heard? Haven’t you read?
Proclaim it on high,
Oh let it be said!
The clown that’s dressed in white, yellow, and red, Is dead!
Oh how tragic, he’s dead.
Some say it was the food, and others, his age,
Or he just couldn’t live off of minimum wage,
But whatever it was, this poor fast-food sage,
Is dead!
Oh how tragic, he’s dead.
And now Mc Donald’s is just not the same,
The commercials are boring without him in the frame,
And “Put a smile on,” is sounding quite lame,
Because he is dead.
Oh how tragic, he’s dead.
They’re trying for replacements… if there’s one to be found,
They asked Burger King but he turned them down,
But no one can replace that dear old clown,
Who is dead!
Oh how tragic, he’s dead.
His coffin is a nugget box,
There’s fast food at the wake,
The zillion kids are crying,
On a Mcflurrybelly ache,
The majority is grieving,
Though the workers look relieved,
Cause in honesty, that goofy boss,
Made them all really peeved,
But the whole world was united
Each child knew this clown,
And the Stocks for big McDonald's,
Is surely crashing down,
There's no good use denying it,
Some things just must be said,
We all miss dear McDonald,
But now and forever, he’s dead!
Most truthfully, terribly, tragically dead…….
Let’s eat at Wendy’s instead.

The Last Rose of Summer
by Tom Moore
’Tis the last rose of summer
Left blooming alone;
All her lovely companions
Are faded and gone;
No flower of her kindred,
No rosebud is nigh,
To reflect back her blushes,
To give sigh for sigh.
I’ll not leave thee, thou lone one!
To pine on the stem;
Since the lovely are sleeping,
Go, sleep thou with them.
Thus kindly I scatter
Thy leaves o’er the bed,
Where thy mates of the garden
Lie scentless and dead.
So soon may I follow,
When friendships decay,
And from Love’s shining circle
The gems drop away.
When true hearts lie withered
And fond ones are flown,
Oh! who would inhabit
This bleak world alone?
