Domiciliary Equipment Service Bidet Fact Sheet
Purpose of a Bidet
Hands free cleaning of perineal area, followed by the warm air dryer for clients who are unable to manage their hygiene needs.
Installation
This will be arranged by your prescribing therapist. A power point will need to be available close to the toilet to enable use of the Bidet. This power point must also comply with Bathroom Electrical Safety guidelines as assessed by your therapist.
Optional Wall or side mount controller with large raised buttons on the remote allow ease of use.
Installation of grabrails (if required) and position of wall mounting for controller should also be assessed by your prescribing therapist.
Instructions for Use
· After using the toilet, the occupant presses the cleansing button on the large waterproof remote control.
· A nozzle extends underneath the occupant and sprays a gentle stream of warm water to the perineal.
(This spray can be changed from narrow
– wide to suit the needs of the occupant).
· Once complete the occupant presses the dry button and
a stream of warm air can assist to dry the occupant.
Weight Tolerance
Equipment is weight tested to Australian Standards and has limited weight tolerances. The Health Care bidet is weight rated to 180kg. If you experience significant weight gain the equipment may become unsafe, please advise DES if you have significantly gained weight.

You should receive a quality service, delivered in a safe and competent manner. Please inform us promptly of any change in your circumstances or if you experience any problems with your equipment or service so that corrective action may be taken at an early stage.
Please take care of any equipment provided to you and let us know when you no longer require it.
