We are happy to announce that this year’s school musical will be The Lion King Jr.! We are so excited to begin this musical adventure with our students!

There will be three performances of this production. The dates are as follows:

Friday, February 19th at 7:00PM, Saturday, February 20th at 7:00PM, and Sunday February 21st at 2:00PM

Auditions will be open for all students in grades 3-8. This year we will hold auditions over a three-day period. Audition dates will be determined by student grade level, and will be during the week of October 19th:

Monday, October 19th: Grades 7 & 8

Tuesday, October 20th: Grades 5 & 6

Thursday, October 22nd: Grades 3 & 4

The audition process will consist of a vocal audition AND an acting audition. Acting and vocal auditions will be held on the afternoon of your audition date from 3:00pm-5:00pm.

Some important things to know:

·  Rehearsals begin November 10th

·  Regular rehearsals will be Tuesday and Thursdays from 3:00-5:00PM

·  Attendance at ALL scheduled rehearsals is mandatory unless you are ill.

·  No matter your role, if you miss more than 2 rehearsals, you will not be allowed to perform in the production.

·  Unfortunately, not all who audition will be cast, but do not let that discourage you from auditioning!

If you wish to audition:

·  Fill out the form on the back of this page and return it to school by Friday, October 9th.

·  At vocal auditions you will be asked to sing The Star Spangled Banner OR They’ll Know We Are Christians. You may choose which song you would like to prepare. (you will find music attached)

·  At acting auditions you will be asked to read from the script individually and with other students auditioning.

·  Parents will not be allowed in the audition room.

·  Please bring a book to read or homework to complete to auditions. There will be down time when it is not your turn to read lines.

·  Students will be dismissed at the link doors at 5:00PM after auditions.

·  If you are cast in this production, you will be responsible for making your own costume, but you will be given guidance!

Auditioning for a play is a big commitment. Students who are cast in this production must attend ALL scheduled rehearsals and ALL scheduled performances. If you miss more than two rehearsals you will not be allowed to perform in the production. Behavior at rehearsals must be professional, as there is a lot to get done to make this production the best we know it can be.
