About the Prospects CEIAG award

The Quality Award in Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) from Prospects is designed to accredit good practice and encourage development in schools, academies, colleges, special schools and PRUs / short stay schools. The Award is supported by a partnership of Prospects, local authorities, schools and colleges.

The standards are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect local and national developments.

If a school or college is accredited with this award, it can feel confident it is meeting national requirements and good practice guidelines.

Why have Quality Awards?

Quality Awards are in line with national recommendations. Standards have been found to give careers / IAG work a higher profile; increase the involvement of senior managers in careers / IAG work; and lead to more structured and progressive careers programmes. They help institutions improve and develop their careers work.

Holding a nationally validated CEIAG award demonstrates to those outside the institution (for example OfSTED) that a high standard has been reached.

The Quality Award in CEIAG (Prospects) meets the requirements fully for national validation by

the Quality in Careers Standard (QiCS). The Prospects CEIAG award is one of 5 specialist careers

awards meeting the national standard.
