MEF Board of Directors &Committee Nomination Form
The Nominating Committee of the Minnesota Environmental Fund (MEF) is seeking individuals to serve on the organization’s Board of Directorsand/or acommittee or Task Force. We are always looking for good candidates to fill vacancies and/or add depth to our organization, and applications are being accepted year-round.
Board members serve three-year terms with a total of 11-15 members. Board members lead and serve on several standing committees: Finance, Nominating, and Member Relations. Qualified candidates will be passionate about caring for the environment through engaged board and committee work. Committee members are appointed by the board, and task force members assist staff with specific initiatives.
Ideal board candidates will:
- Have a demonstrated passion for improving the environment in Minnesota
- Be committed to active participation in six board meetings per year, plus committee work and special sessions, as needed (3-5 hours/month)
- Be interested in helping MEF grow through outreach within his/her personal/professional network and workplace
- Embrace collaborative approaches
- Make MEF one of his/her top three charitable causes
- Be willing to serve a three-year term
Timing: We are meeting with potential candidates and will present our slate of candidates to the MEF Board in October, with nominations prepared by November 10. A three-year term of service would begin in January 2018.
