JESUS WAS, IS, and SHALL BE THE MESSIAH

Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And AFTER threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself . . . – Daniel 9:25, 26

But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. – Acts 3:18

The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ. – Acts 4:26 (Psalm 2:1)

. . . saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come: That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles. --Acts 26:23

Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. – 1 Pet. 1:10, 11

“It will prove that Jesus did not come to earth to be the messiah. It will prove that there was a Calvery [sic] conspiracy between Rome, the high priest, and Herod to execute Jesus as an insurrectionist too dangerous to live. Since Jesus refused by word and deed to claim to be the messiah, how can the Jews be blamed for rejecting what was never offered?" – John Hagee

Both the Old Testament prophecy and the New Testament commentary on that prophecy attest to Jesus as being the Messiah or Christ. Daniel calls Him the Prince or King and he was received by the people in His entrance to Jerusalem, riding on a donkey. At the 62nd week of Daniel, the Messiah Prince comes, and AFTER the 62nd week, the Messiah Prince is cut off or crucified. Obviously, John Hagee is out of step with those in both the Old and New Testaments in regard to Jesus being the Messiah the first time that He came. Hagee is trying to let the Jews off the hook and trying to say that they are saved like Christians. Hagee is not alone in his difficulty in that some 3 ½ year tribulationists have difficulty between the Messiah Prince and the people of the Roman prince, the antichrist.

The Messiah/Christ

He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ. – John 1:41

The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ . . . – John 4:25

The term Messias is the Hebrew word for the Messiah, and it is both interpreted and called in the Greek as “CHRIST.” So Jesus Christ is none other than Jesus MESSIAH.

Christ Claimed that He was the Messiah/Christ

But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? And Jesus said, I AM . . . -- Mark 14:61, 62

Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? – Luke 24:26

And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: -- Luke 24:46

The false claim that Jesus did not claim to be the Messiah/Christ the first time that He came and that He is not the Jew’s Messiah and that we must wait for His Messiah-ship until He comes again the second time is false doctrine.

The Holy Spirit Narrative Claims Jesus as the Messiah/Christ

So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations. – Matt. 1:17

And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. – Matt. 2:4

And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ. – Luke 2:26

Angels, Devils, Enemies, Rulers, Jews, Support Claim that Jesus was the Messiah/Christ/King

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. – Luke 2:11

And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ. – Luke 4:41

And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that he himself is Christ a King. – Luke 23:2

But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ? -- John 7:26

These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.

The New Testament is replete with the claims of angels, Devils, Christ’s enemies, the Jewish rulers, and the people making reference to the claims that Jesus was, indeed, the Messiah/Christ/King.

Peter, the Apostles, Disciples, and Believers Claimed that Jesus was the Messiah/Christ

He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ. – John 1:

The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. – John 4:25

Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ? – John 4:29

And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God. – John 6:69

She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world. – John 11:27

But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. – John 20:31

And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. – Matt. 16:16

And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ. – Matt. 8:29

. . . But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God. – Luke 9:20

Every one seems to know that Jesus is the Messiah/Christ except John Hagee and the unsaved Jews of today.

Paul and Apollos Claims of Jesus being the Messiah/Christ

But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ. – Acts 9:22

Paul . . . Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ. – Acts 17:3

For he [Apollos] mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ. – Acts 18:28

Whether the O.T., the Gospels, the Acts or the epistles, we find Jesus is indisputably the Messiah Christ, whether John Hagee or lost Jews like it or not.John Hagee has written a DAMAGE CONTROL for his widely publicized quote essentially saying thatJesusdid not come the first time as the Messiah but will be the Messiah when Jesus comes again.Hagee’s theory is that Jesus must reign as King in order to be the Messiah. To insist on this, Hagee must deny all the above scriptures.
