DALE OSBORN-MARION COUNTY JAIL

Today Brian Dixon will introduce us to Dale Osborn the Executive Director of the Marion/Hardin County Jail. Mr. Osborn has lived in Marion since 1987, and was former Mayor Jack Kellogg’s Safety and Service Director from 1994 to 2005. Currently, he is the 6th Ward Councilman. At this meeting he will be discussing the facility’s budget issues, safety issues, and the reopening of the other wing of the jail.

From the Rotarian: In 1963, 17-year-old Danielle Baltus boarded a ship for New York City to start her yearlong Rotary Youth Exchange. The trip across the Atlantic too two weeks, and it took another two weeks for her first letter to make its way back home to Belgium. “A month went by before my parents even knew I had arrived safely,” she recalls. Baltus remembers her year in Mission, Texas, as an immersion in American culture. She became a Rotarian in 1999, when she joined the Rotary Club of Lessines, Belgium. This is the enduring value of Youth Exchange.
