Last Week’s Rotary Meeting In Review

Andy Moore spoke to the club about renewing their signs at the Disc Golf Course. The first tournament is scheduled for May 14th.

Bill McNamara paid the happy dollar to brag about his nephew being accepted at West Point and the Naval Academy.

Pictionary Olympics

The Grayling Rotary Pictionary Olympics team is growing. Mark Davey still has an opening on his team and Miranda Bailey-Quick has also agreed to get a team together. If you are interested contact Mark or Miranda. Please respond as soon as possible - the date is April 15, 7:00 pm at the Grayling Eagles Club.

Disc Golf Course Signs

It's that time to renew your space on the Grayling Rotary Club Disc Golf Course PatronSign at Hanson Hills foronly $50 (first year cost for new Patrons is $80.00 - the additional $30.00 covers the cost of sign creation and the signs should remain usable for 5 +/- years).

If you aren't on the sign yet, please get in touch with Andy to reserve a space before they are gone. It's a great way to get your name, or business name, out there in front of the public without a great deal of expense. The billboard stays up year around and participation for 2011-2012 means your 12"x18" full color (to your specifications)signage will be on display until May 2012. For returning Patrons..that's about $4.00 a month.Call Andy at 989-745-2214 or 989-344-2000.

Guest Speaker

John Davis, executive director of the Cornucopia Art Center in Lanesboro, Minn., will be the guest speaker at our April 20th meeting. Mr. Davis will also speak at a special event at the Ramada Inn in Grayling that evening at 7 p.m. His presentation should help create valuable discussions on what a community, such as Grayling with its AuSable Artisan Village concept, may do to emerge stronger and more viable, despite the region’s recent economic struggles and high unemployment. “Lanesboro provides a model for what we could do here in Grayling to revitalize the area’s economy based on local artists and the great outdoors – two of our strengths that are underutilized in many ways,”
