1.2 ISO-TC-37 on Asian NLP:H Isahara (Leader, Japan); Key-Sun Choi (Secretary General and Leader, Korea); Maosong Sun (Leader, China) and Benjamin Tsou (National Expert, China); Appointment of AFNLP observer (Chu-Ren Huang);

1.5 IJCNLP-08 (India):

(v) Tsujii suggests to have two Sponsorship Co-chairs: one within India, and one outside India.

1.6 ACL / AFNLP links:

1.6.1IJCNLP-09: This will be organized as the first hopefully future joint conferences every 3 years with financial arrangements to be worked out. A local organizer search committee has been formed (Bonnie J. Dorr, Martha Palmer, Keh-Yih Su,Jun’ichiTsujii and Benjamin Tsou).

Members noted that: (1) Potential venues are China, India, Korea, SingaporeThailand, (2) BeijingUniversity in China has been informally approached by COLING for COLING 2010 or 2012 to be local organizer.

2. AFNLP Web Site: Haizhou Li will be the responsible person to set it up in Singapore. A vote of thanks to K S Choi for his work so far.

3. Term of Executive Members:Current terms will end at December 31, 2006.Subsequent term of office will be two years from January 1, 2007. To be classified as constitutional revision.

4. Constitutional revisions:form a task force (Jun’ichiTsujii, Benjamin Tsou, Kai-FaiWong, Keh-Yih Su and one person from China), and revision should be completed by September.

5. Activity for 2007: consider to have a summer school in Japan (Jun’ichiTsujii)

6. Other Issues not having enough time for discussion:

(i) Handbook.

(ii) Task Forces.

(iii) Executive Committee Membership.
