2010 (Spring) Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) Review Course

General Overview

The ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association) is an international non-profit making professional organization. The ISACA sponsored Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification is recognized worldwide by all industries. Since 1978, CISA has been the globally accepted standard of competence achievement among information systems (IS) audit, control, assurance and security professionals. CISA is an approved accreditation by the US Department of Defense (DoD), signifying the DoD’s confidence in the credential. The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has accredited the CISA certification under ISO/IEC 17024:2003.

The CISA exam consists of 200 multiple-choice questions, administered during a four-hour session, and is offered annually during the months of June and December. The purpose of the exam is to test a candidate's knowledge, evaluation and application of IS audit principles, and practices and technical content areas.

The June 2010 exam will be administered on Saturday, 12thJune 2010worldwide, and Hong Kong is one of the exam centers. Candidates for exam are encouraged to register online via the ISACA web site ( and to maximize their savings by joining ISACA.

CISA Review Course

A ten-week CISA Review Course organized by the ISACA China Hong Kong Chapter, for candidates who need assistance in preparing for the CISA examination or would like to refresh their knowledge, is scheduled to commence on 27thFebruary 2010. At the end of the Review Course, there will be an exam simulation and some exam tactics will be provided.

Study Materials

The course is a summary review of the CISA domains and presumes the completion of self-study at minimum before each class. Handouts, if any, given by course facilitators would be provided during the classes but will not include the CISA Review Manual, which is a comprehensive study guide that assists candidates in preparing for the CISA exam. Course participants are advised to obtain the CISA Review Manual 2010 either purchase through the ISACA website ( or the office of China Hong Kong Chapter until stock last, at a discounted price – HK$800 for ISACA members, HK$950 for HKCS / HKICPA / CGA members and HK$1,100 for non-members.

In addition to the CISA Review Manual 2010, CISA candidates should consider acquiringCISA Practice Question Database v10 English Edition (which consists of 800-question study guide) through ISACA Online Bookstore ().

CPE Credits: 3 x 10 = 30 (Certificate of Completion will be given for attendance more than 75%)
