o  Wellness Center Events/Health Coach

o  MIB/SIB Guide to Holiday Decorations

Ø  Safety Guidelines for Holiday Decorations. Steve D’Antoni led discussion:

o  Ensure guidelines (as published on the OFAS website) are reviewed and followed

o  Be sure to use a stable ladder/chair when hanging decorations

o  Be careful when using sterno cans

o  Steve D’Antoni’s team take the guidelines seriously and will be walking through to ensure they are met.

Ø  Alcohol Waiver

o  Form was automated but the platform used for automation is currently not available. If you require a waiver:

§  Go to the Special Events section through the OFAS web site

§  If the platform is not available, the waiver will be provided in a PDF form

Ø  Modernization Updates:

o  7100 East/West skylights are done

§  Estimated completion for all construction is end of December

o  6th Floor is done; Secretary and Deputy Secretary have re-occupied

o  5th Floor is done; PMB and OS is occupying space.

o  The 5160 Conference Room

§  Waiting on furniture - estimated completion, end of December

§  Audio Visual equipment is being upgraded; operational by February

o  4th Floor is done. AS-IA is on west side; Budget Office relocating to east this weekend.

o  3rd Floor is done; NPS is on east side and ASFWP is on the west side.

o  Interior Library is expected to be completed and reopened in by February 2017

o  Yates Auditorium: construction is nearing completion; AV upgrades are in progress; expect to remain by Spring.

o  Basement areas are done

o  Work is progressing on the Secretary’s garage

o  1500 renovation is expected to be done in February 2017

o  1200 West (back of old Museum): targeted to be complete in March 2017

o  Everything should be up by Mid Spring 2017

Ø  Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED)

o  MIB LEED

§  Wing 1 – LEED Gold

§  Wing 2- LEED Certified

§  Bison Bistro – LEED Platinum

§  DOI Child Care Center – LEED Platinum

o  Customer asked, “How does the LEED certification work”?

§  It is a point system

§  Points are earned in areas that address sustainability issues. For example; DOI was awarded points for using recycled materials for furniture, local contractors, low VOCs for paint, recycling of old materials, the bike rack in the garage, etc.

o  Customer asked, “Are we the only Federal Agency with this rating”?

§  We are one of the few Federal Agencies LEED certified with a historic building

§  As of a year or so ago, GSA stated the Udall Building was the only Federal building in the country with a cafeteria and child care center certified with LEED Platinum

Ø  C Street Entrance – Visitor Area

o  Customer asked, “Will the visitor processing area change”?

§  Effort being led by the Security Office; working on redoing the entire C Street lobby area to make it more welcoming to visitors

§  Rearranging where visitors come in (security check will be done outside of open-lobby area.

§  Hoping to have work done by Spring 2017

o  Customer asked, “Will the same work be done on the E Street entrance”?

§  Not at this time

§  Want to ensure set up on C street works first

Ø  Moves

o  To support the effort to maximize space in Udall and the influx of roughly 550 staff from NPS, there are 25 different moves scheduled over the next few months.

o  Brian Scott is the new Space Management Branch Chief in OFAS

o  Customer asked, “While moving, what is the process for securing used furniture from individuals trying to claim/take possession”?

§  Office will be locked to secure furniture

§  See Rick Farr if you are in need of furniture

o  Customer asked, “Is there somewhere in which we can store a few desks”?

§  See Rick Farr or Brian Scott

§  Currently, there is not a lot of space in this building for storage

o  Customer asked, “Will 5149 be used for the Secretary’s transition”?

§  Yes, it will

Ø  Flu Shots

o  Shots still available while supplies last (about 100 are left)

o  Barbara Hayden has been administering approximately 10 a day

o  Available Monday through Friday

Ø  Wellness Center Upcoming Event - “Talks with the Health Coach Series”

o  1st session begins on January 18th with Sessions 2 through 5 taking place each month following

o  All sessions will take place in the Kiowa Room from 12:00 -1:00 pm

§  No charge or registration

§  Each of the five sessions will look at the daily factors that we need to maintain our well-being. They are a real food, relationships, reason for being rest, and recreation

Ø  Customer asked, “Are there counseling services available in MIB, for individuals dealing with issues related to the new President Elect”?

§  Suggestion was to consider the Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) or contacting CADR

Ø  South Interior Building

o  Customer stated, “There are rumors of renovations and moving for SIB tenants”.

§  Last SIB renovation was in 1978

§  OFAS is very excited about current plans for SIB renovation

§  Design activities have begun

§  Earlier in 2016, we were hoping to begin construction in early 2017 but it probably won’t begin until the latter half of 2017

§  Would like to do construction with no tenants in building but it is possible we can do ½ building at a time.

§  Cost will increase with tenants present as will the duration of the project

§  OFAS is pursuing space options in Udall for the current occupants of the SIB

Ø  Recycling Program

o  Customer asked, “How does the recycling program work”? A review is needed for new employees.

§  Considering redoing the current programs pick-up schedule

§  Will probably send out information after the first of the year

§  Elevator safety practices may also be sent out around the same time

o  Customer asked, “Will the recycle bin on the outside of the gym only take ink jet cartridges”?

§  Yes, just ink jet printer cartridges

§  Other cartridges can be placed in the freight elevator lobbies

o  Customer asked, “Are the recycle battery bins for rechargeable batteries only”?

§  Yes, it is

§  Ken Tunney will set up a separate bin for non-rechargeable batteries

Ø  E Street Doors on the Far Left

o  Waiting on parts to perform repair

Ø  Cafeteria Thanksgiving Schedule

o  Will probably close early on Wednesday

o  Watering Hole will be closed on Wednesday and probably Friday
