Our Services

24 Hour Call-Out Service

We operate on a 24 hour call out system. Therefore there will be staff available to take your call any time of the day or night. Please call 01772 634321/07766 807846/07950 291266

Our services at Paramount Care & Safety Limited support vulnerable children, young people and adults in their own home, the community or within another provision. Most of our work begins with an emergency and crisis response on a 24 hour basis.

Social Care Services

Supervised Family Contact

Our staff will fully supervise family contact at an agreed venue. This will involve observing the family contact, recording findings in a set report format which is then sent to the social worker and Paramount Care & Safety Ltd for the family file. As part of this service we transport children to and from family contact if necessary.

Outreach Support

Sometimes families need respite care and our staff will work with a child, young person or family where this has been identified by the social worker. Our staff can transport children and young people to various activities and support them through an outreach session ensuring the child or young person has a really positive experience. Some of the activities children and young people participate in are walking, going to the park, visiting the zoo, attending the youth club, going to the play centre, shopping – enhancing life skills with older children we work with, and much more depending on the child or young persons’ wishes and interests and in line with their care plan. Personal care will be catered for by our staff as we are registered as a domiciliary care provider with the Care Quality Commission.

Emergency Duty Team Support

We offer a service for Social Care colleagues out of office hours. We can provide escorts and transport for vulnerable children to extended family members following child protection concerns or court orders, return to foster placements, welfare checks, support for children and young people missing from home/care plus support within the family home.

Report Writing

This is an important part of our work with vulnerable children, young people and young adults. We are aware that most of our recordings are used for court reports and endeavour to write them with as much information as possible in a format that social work teams need. As part of good practice and within the legislation of information sharing and data protection, reports are stored at our head office in an appropriate locked cabinet.

LAC Reviews

Staff who have been working with specific children and young people are often invited to a child or young persons Looked After Review. We see our role in these meetings as paramount and conducive to contributing in helping a child achieve the best possible outcome with our part in that outcome as a priority. As part of a multi-agency team around a child or young person we will feed back our experiences and observations and report any concerns in the appropriate manner.

Residential and Home Care Staffing

Short Term Emergency Placements

We can provide emergency short term placements; these are set up with a minimum 2:1 staffing with both qualified and very experienced staff. The placements have historically been for difficult to place young people, to give the social work team time to assess the offers for future long term placements so the next move for the young person can be more considered, planned and structured. Each placement is structured and tailored to the individual.

Local Authority and Private Sector Children’s Homes

We provide experienced and qualified staff for either supporting your staff teams or with team leader skills. This includes EBD homes, Learning Disabilities, and specialist 1:1 or 2:1 support. Staff travel to various residential homes around the country and will work on block days including sleep-ins. We also supply staff for Waking Watch/Nights.

Adult Projects

We provide staff in supported living projects for adults in their own home environments. Some of these adults require additional support due to learning/physical disabilities; mental health needs; dementia; sensory impairment; eating disorders; drug/alcohol misuse etc. Our support enables them to live as independently as possible within their own homes, as opposed to relying on residential care. These are short and long term projects which demand commitment, consistency and enthusiasm from staff working on them. The care provided for these adults can include attending to personal care needs if required, as Paramount Care and Safety is registered with the CQC as a domiciliary care provider.

Children and Young People's Activity Weekend Services

We provide experienced staff who can work as part of a staff team with vulnerable young people in the outdoors camping or in holiday homes working on 1:1 or 2:1 ratio. Staff partake in activities such as walking, fishing, canoeing etc giving new experiences to the young people they work with as part of a care plan.

Home Care/Floating Support Services

We also provide experienced staff, who can work as part of a staff team with vulnerable young people on a floating support basis in different parts of the country. This may be in a hostel, boat, caravan or holiday cottage meeting the needs of the children and young people. Our floating support workers are also able to provide support within the family home, for additional care needs. This support includes providing personal care as required.

Classroom Support

Our staff will attend school with a child or young person in order to support a transition plan around positive behaviour. We have found that this service is invaluable to teaching staff and parents when our outreach staff are working with the family in the family home as it enables good role modelling and delivers consistent behaviour management messages to the child or young person as well as consistent management styles between school and parents facilitated by Paramount staff.

Health Care Services

Hospital Support

Paramount Care & Safety Limited, work closely with local Primary Care Trusts and the Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) teams in order to keep vulnerable children and young people safe whilst in hospital. This work is often, but not exclusively, with children and young people who have been admitted due to self-harming or suicidal actions. Relationship building and interaction, regular observation and monitoring, report writing, supervising family visits (where required) are all part of this service. 1:1 or 2:1 staffing ratios are provided to meet the needs of the child or young person in line with child protection plans, care plans or risk management plans. Our staff work closely with the hospital staff and extended health care professionals in order to keep these young people safe and supported.

We also provide staff to support adults admitted to hospital who may need extra assistance or supervision due to their mental health issues (which could include eating disorders, drug/alcohol misuse), or learning/physical disability needs. Our staff teams are able to attend to personal care needs if required.

Home Rehabilitation Services

Paramount Care and Safety is able to provide staffing to bridge the gap between a child or young person leaving hospital (or other health facility) and being back fully functional within their home environment. Thus we supply both 1:1 or 2:1 staffing to support this rehabilitation period, often with a pre-identified staff reduction strategy. This enables a smooth transition for the child or young person and the family, but also ensures that their isn’t a long term reliance on our support.

Transportation Services

We can arrange for our staff to safely transport children, young people or adults to various health appointments or general transportation services. This can include assisting in the ‘moving on’ process from our hospital watches, ensuring that young people who move to their new placement do so with support from staff with whom they are familiar. We transport children, young people and adults with challenging behaviour, learning disabilities or mental health needs.

Escort and Court Support Services

Secure Escort and Supervision

We provide a team of 3 people (or more if required) – 1 driver and 2 escorts to safely transport a child, young person or adult from, and to, an agreed destination. Safety and safeguarding is our priority. This includes the checking of and taking responsibility for relevant paper work and the young person’s/adults personal belongings.

We have skilled staff that are trained in de-escalation and non crisis intervention techniques as well as physical restraint which is only used if the child, young person or adult is a danger to himself or others.

Court Support and Supervision

We ensure that a child, young person or adult has the support around him/her when attending court. As part of the secure escort service, the team provided will accompany the young person/adult to court and accompany them whilst they are situated in the cells and into the dock if needed.

Non Secure Escorts

We provide a team of 2 people – 1 driver and 1 escort to safely transport a child, young person or adult to and from an agreed destination. This includes children, young people or adults missing from home. Non secure escorts are provided where a risk assessment has been carried out and it is deemed that 1 escort is enough to ensure the safety of the child, young person or adult.

Meeting the Needs of Children & Young People

This is something we pride ourselves in, either by achieving this by direct work from the Paramount Care and Safety Ltd staff team or by working in partnership with our Health, Social Care and Education colleagues.

Vulnerable Children, Young People and Adults

There are many different models of care that underpin services. Paramount Care and Safety Ltd recognise the importance of a whole person overview with empathy and understanding at the core of our model. In emergency situations the amount of information may be limited but our model of care enables staff to deliver practice to make the best possible start in both emergency and planned circumstances.

Model of Care

Paramount Care and Safety Ltd delivers a model of care that recognises current issues and presenting behaviours, but underpins this with an understanding of child development and the impact of trauma and neglect. The latter is particularly significant in childhood and as such Paramount Care & Safety staff are trained in understanding neurodevelopment and attachment. However the model is future focussed, with staff determined to help children, young people and adults overcome past and present difficulties by building coping strategies to take with them throughout life. This is achieved by using the resilience model. The basis of Person Centred Planning underpins our work with children, young people and adults alike, recognising the importance of individual consultation and choice.
