Minutes of the Woolverstone Annual Parish Meeting held on Wednesday 13th May 2015 at 8.00pm at Berners Hall

Minutes: The minutes of the meeting held in May 2014 were adopted as a true record was proposed by Mr S Quantrill and seconded by Mrs A Glading.
Reports were presented to the meeting by
The Chairman – outlined the year’s activities in his report, copy attached
Additionally the chairman raised concern about dog walkers failing to clear up
and suggested that we would consider a campaign, with posters and bags in the
summer. Our next litter pick will be the weekend 5/6 March 2016.
Vivo – Mrs Jane Gould outlined the activities of the village singing group called Vivo, meeting every Friday evening. An informal group of people from the
Shotley peninsula and beyond.
St Michaels – Mrs Gould reported that a new pattern of services has been
Adopted at St Michaels, including Café Church. She said that the building
In its current state is not fit for purpose as it is so cold. There will be a fund
raising drive to put in a more effective heating system. Additionally, a
monthly morning market at the church is planned to increase the income
needed to cover the running costs of the church.
Babergh DC – a report from the retired District Councillor was read to the meeting,
copy attached.
The councillors asked that John Deacon be thanked for all the help he has given.
Suffolk CC. Mr D Wood gave his report. Copy attached.
Mr Simon Pearce asked if the whole of the village could be included in the
30 mph limit. Mr Wood did not feel this would be possible but said that
he is campaigning to increase the area covered by the 40mph limit and will be
asking for our support.
Mrs J Young pointed out that the postman finds delivering to the cottages beyond
the 30mph limit hair terrifying.
The suggestion of average speed cameras was considered not possible, both because
Of lack of funds and because the village is a conservation area.
Mrs J Gould suggested that perhaps parking on the road for a period of time would
encourage people to slow down.
Mrs E Iskander asked if the conservation work on the Ganges mast would be
carried out. Mr Wood said that this was unlikely to happen until houses on the
development have been built.
Berners Hall Mrs E Iskander gave a report on behalf of the Hall Management Committee and
