These design tools have been prepared to help you understand and design systems using IED products. They can be used for designing, specifying and presenting systems in your proposals. Please contact us if you find any errors or omissions, or have ideas to improve their usability.

AutoCad Symbols

1.  Copy, (or unzip if applicable) the 510ACS, 8000, Networking, Peripherals and Titan files into there own folders and place the folders where you normally keep AutoCad Symbols. Each group has individual files of the object symbols.

Each group of products also has an 8.5x 11 Summary Sheet(s) that can be printed and used as a reference sheet. For example, the 510ACS Symbols Sheet.dwg is a compilation of the 510ACS parts.

2.  Copy, (or unzip) the sample drawings into a Sample Project folder. Initially on this disk that includes a Small 4 Gate Airport and a 36 Gate Airport.

3.  When starting a new drawing, set the grid and snap spacing to 0.1 inches. This will ensure that objects and lines drop into place correctly.

Visio Shapes

1.  Copy, (or unzip) all of the .vss files into your Visio Shapes folder which should be under My Documents. This will ensure the Shapes will be found when you start or edit a drawing.

2.  Copy, (or unzip) the .vsd files into a Sample Project folder. Initially on this disk that includes a Small 4 Gate Airport and 36 Gate Airport.

3.  The IED VISIO Shape Sheet.vsd is a compilation of all of the shapes that can be printed and used as a reference sheet.

Design Guides

The Airport System Design Guide is a word document and is self explanatory.
