Lab Manual: Photo Manual and Dissection Guide of the Cat, Fred Bohensky

Personal Electronic Devices… are not allowed, without permission, in class. Confiscated PED’s will be returned at the end of the following class period. (Friday returned Monday.)

i Pads are to be closed and on the floor unless Hudalla instructs you to use them during class time

Planner Board:

Students live very busy lives. Like myself, they like to know due dates, test dates, and other things of that matter in advance. I have a dated planner board posted in the front of the room with the DAILY topics, test dates, project due dates, and such posted for a 6-8 week period (I update it every couple of weeks)... yes, students are well informed of due dates WEEKS in advance.

Grading:

Your grade will be comprised of two parts...

85%---tests, assignments, projects, homework

15%---participation and citizenship

Letter grades will be based on the following percentages:

A=95-100C=73-76.99

A-=90-94.99C-=70-72.99

B+=87-89.99D+=67-69.99

B=83-86.99D=63-66.99

B-=80-82.99D-=60-62.99

C+=77-79.99F=59.99 and lower

The semester grades are cumulative. That is, each semester is one continuous grading period. Quarter grades are simply a snap-shot of your performance at the end of each quarter. When checking progress on-line, focus on the semester grades. For college credit, an average of the two semester grades will determine the grade that appears on your college transcript.

Test Dates:

Students are informed of test dates weeks in advance. Generally, a test is preceded by a review day. If you are absent the day of the review, you WILL take the test on the scheduled day. If you miss the test day, you WILL take the test the next day that you show up for class. I expect you will study

for the review day as if it were the test... thus, take you materials home and prepare accordingly. There are no test retakes.

Tardies

We will follow school policy. Please O.K. music lessons, and meetings ahead of time

Cheating:

Students will earn a “0”” on the project or test on which they were found to be cheating.

Late Work:

Students must bring work to class on the due date. Students who need to go to their locker to get homework that is due will be assessed a “half tardy” but will earn full credit for their work. Students who do not have homework completed on time receive a “0”. Large projects turned in late will earn 50% of the total points earned.

If you are absent, it is YOUR responsibility to find out what we did while you were gone...do not ask me during class...come see me on YOUR time.

Student/Teacher Discussions and Office Hours:

If a student wishes to talk with me for any reason... SUPER... I will do my best to find a time that is convenient for both the student and myself. Students must arrange for a meeting time on their own time not during class time. There is a white board in front of the room solely for signing up. Generally I am available from 7:30-8:20 a.m. and 3:07-4 p.m.

News Article Oral Reports

Each student will be required to give one oral report, per semester, of an article from recent news media. The article is to come from the St. Cloud Times, Star Tribune, Pioneer Press, or USA Today. Other sources need to be O.K.-ed by Hudalla. Each report is worth 68 points.

Cat Dissection:

Students will dissect (in groups) a cat during the last 4-5 weeks of the class. The Dissection is worth 100 points and the practical is worth 100 points as well.

CAT PRACTICAL IS WEDNESDAY MAY 20thduring class.
