Since all the boots and leathers we sell are custom built, please make sure that you fill out all necessary fields. Please take the time to accurately measure your feet, and you'll have the most comfortable and best wearing pair of boots you've ever had. Custom-sized items cannot be returned, so please have someone else take the measurements, and then double check them.
Sit on a char with your feet flat against a hard floor, wear socks, and if you will be tucking your pants or breeches inside your boots wear those as well. Have a friend take the measurements, holding the measuring tape snugly, but not too tightly.
Measurement Point / Left / Right / Measurement Instructions2 / LENGTH / 1- Draw a straight line, longer then your foot, on a piece of paper.
2- Place the paper on a flat surface. Stand on the line with your heel and longest toe centered on the line.
3- Heave a friend place a mark on the line at the tip of your toe and back of your heel. Measure both feet.
4- Measure the distance between the marks.
3 / BALL / Measure the ball of the foot from the big toe joint all the way around the little toe joint, straight across without angling the tape.
4 / Instep / Measure from the highest point of the top of the foot all the way around straight across, not in an angle.
5 / HEEL / The heel measurement is taken diagonally from the bottom of the back of the heel across the top of the foot.
6* / ANKLE / Measure around the ankle bone.
(Usually 4"-6" from the floor).
7* / CALF / The calf measurement is taken at the widest part of the calf. It can be found by sliding the measuring tape up and down until finding the widest spot..
8* / BOOT TOP / The top is measured at the highest point (to the crease of the knee) and make a pencil mark on outside of the leg on top of the tape.
9* / HEIGHT OF BOOT / The height is measured from the pencil mark, to the floor, on the outside of the leg. (This pencil mark was done in step 8).
Then add 1 1/4 inches for your total height measurements (That is to allow for breakage and wrinkling)
With the customer sitting and feel placed flat on the floor, place tape around the leg as high as possible to the bend in the knee.
* Only measurements needed for custom uppers.
