FUNDING AND BUDGET
The total funds available per studentship from NERC are as follows:Stipend£55,452.00
Fees£15,984.00
Support£11,000.00
Management£1,500.00
TOTAL£83,936.00
However, this funding does not cover full costs (e.g. tuition fees, specialised project equipment and substantive travel and subsistence costs), so ideally additional funds will come from external partners. Where possible, if proposers do not have such partners, the CDT will make best effort to match projects with potential sponsors.
Each student will attend and benefit from(i) residential Induction, (ii)Annual DREAM inter-cohort Challenge Week, (iii) Annual DREAM inter-cohort Symposium, (iv)Extensive DREAM training. The programme offered includes four Advanced Technical Skills modules in Year One, and three in Year Two, plus Transferable Skills and Leadership (TSL).
Co-funding. Provide details of any confirmedfinancial co-funding agreed. If externally supported, please attach a letter outlining supportfrom the partnering institution agreeing to commit the funding requested. It is anticipated that supervision teams shall seek proactively to strengthen bids with project co-funding and in-kind contributions.A guideline sum of£12,500/per annum is advised,where possible, to meet the full range of DREAM activities.
