Our band members have been accepted in the North Jersey Area Band, Region Bands, Region Orchestra, All-State Band, Rutgers Honors band, Trenton State Honors band, American Music Abroad European Tour and many fine colleges and conservatories for music. Many of our members continue after high school; to play in ensembles like community bands, college ensembles, parade bands, pit orchestras, and with a lifelong appreciation for music.

The band has traveled and performed in many unique and musical venues from California, Florida, Dallas and Chicago They have been selected to perform in the Magic Kingdom parade in both Disneyland and Walt Disney World several times. The Lancer band has performed across the east coast and across the country in San Francisco, L.A. and Dallas. Our home area of New York has enabled the band to perform in many great NYC venues as The Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and South Street Seaport. In 2015 the band performed both a concert and in a parade at the Universal Studios in Orlando.

Above all, the Lancer Band is a group of wonderful young adults who work together, learn from each other, travel, perform and build skills that will last a life time.

The band attends Music Camp each year in August at East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania. This one week camp enables the band to get a start as an ensemble working in sectionals, on concert band literature and the marching band field show. Additional staff at this weeklong camp provides many valuable experiences for all members.

The Lancer Marching Band is a valuable ingredient in a complete band educational experience. It is the Lakeland Band’s tradition that every member participates in all the band’s activities and we are one band. In addition to the Tuesday evening rehearsals, Saturday morning rehearsals are scheduled for the Fall Season, from September to the beginning of November. The band travels to compete at band festivals and they perform the half time show at home football games. We march in parades in town and also on tour in great venues as the Disney Main Street parade and the Universal Studios Parade.
