KIPP Commitment to Athletics
As athletes at KIPP Camino Academy you will be held to a strict academic and behavioral standard. Your main goal at this school is to excel in academics, and participating in sports is a privilege, not a right. This is something you have to earn the entire year. You not only have to earn your spot on a team, but you have to earn the right to play. When you become a part of a team, you have made a commitment not only to your coach and your school, but also to all of your teammates and yourself. It is imperative you all practice together and play together to ensure a deeper meaning of “Team and Family.” A team will never succeed unless all members join together to reach one goal.
No Pass, No Play
If you do not pass a class with a 70 average or higher for a nine-week period, you will be considered academically ineligible to participate in ALL competitions for three weeks. If you are still not passing all courses on your three week progress report, then you will be placed on academic monitoring and remain ineligible until all grades are 70 or higher.
Behavioral Consequence
If a student earns more than 20 deductions in a week they will not be allowed to play the following week. Once they have earned less than 20 deductions they will earn their way back to play. The right to play is ultimately at the discretion of the Athletic Director and the KIPP Camino administration.
· No Shortcuts & Beyond/Missing work
If an athlete earns No Shortcuts, they must attend it until all missing work is complete and is signed off by the NSC supervising teacher. If the athlete earns No Shortcuts on the day of an away game, they will travel with the team, but cannot participate until the coach signs off all missing assignments. You will earn a two game suspension if you play with missing work.
· Attendance Policy
Practices and games are mandatory. School functions (i.e. tutoring, field trip etc) are excused absences, but No Shortcuts is not. You will not be eligible to play in a game, and need to call your coach to notify him/her if you are absent for any part of the school day. Unexcused absences will result in a consequence chosen by the coach (miss a game, sprints). All players must travel together as a team until released by coaches. Special transportation arrangements must be made prior to the game.
· Camino Athletes Code of Conduct
As a KIPP Camino athlete you are expected to maintain a self-discipline that is above reproach. When your opponents cross the line of fair play, it is your responsibility to maintain it. When any situation occurs that is unsportsmanlike, you should report it immediately to your coach. It is our responsibility to you to seek out justice by using the proper discipline systems that are already pre-set in the league.
It is important that athletes embrace the following behaviors:
1. Treat opponents with the respect that is due them as guests and as fellow human beings.
2. Shake hands with opponents and wish them a good game when appropriate.
3. Exercise self-control at all times, accepting the judgment of the officials as just that, the best judgment they could make given what they know and see. Never argue or make gestures indicating lack of respect for the officials’ judgment.
4. Accept both victory and defeat with pride and compassion. Congratulate opponents in a sincere manner following either victory or defeat.
5. Accept seriously the responsibility and privilege of representing the school and community.
Players are to refrain from the following inappropriate behaviors:
1. Taunting officials, opponents or spectators
2. Use of profanity
3. Damage/destruction/theft of school property
· Camino Parents/Spectators Code of Conduct
As a Camino parent you are a representative of our school and what it stands for. We expect that every parent will uphold our “team and family” motto, and exercise self-discipline during all competitions. We believe in motivating our team to win by encouraging our team, not discouraging the competition. All complaints need to go directly to the Athletic Director, not the coach. You must never speak to a coach before or during a game about a concern or complaint.
Spectators are to refrain from inappropriate behaviors:
1. Verbal/physical abuse of officials and coaches.
2. Berating players, coaches or other spectators.
3. Interruption of contest by behaviors such as entering the playing area and/or disruptive behavior.
If any of the above expectations are violated, then your membership on the team may be reviewed by the Principal/Assistant Principal/Athletic Director/Coach.

KIPP Compromiso de Atletismo
Como atletas de la Academia de KIPP Camino le sostendrán a un estricto estándar académico y de comportamiento. Su objetivo principal en esta escuela es para sobresalir en lo académico, y participar en deportes es un privilegio, no un derecho. Esto es algo que tiene que ganar todo el año. Usted no sólo tiene que ganar su lugar en un equipo, pero hay que ganarse el derecho a jugar. Cuando se convierte en parte de un equipo, que ha hecho un compromiso no sólo con su entrenador y su escuela, sino también a todos sus compañeros de equipo y usted mismo. Es imperativo que todas las prácticas juntos y jugar juntos para asegurar un significado más profundo del "Equipo y Familia." Un equipo nunca tendrá éxito a menos que todos los miembros se unen para alcanzar un objetivo.
No apruebas, no juegas
Si usted no pasa una clase con un promedio de 70 por un período de nueve semanas, no se le permitirá practicar deportes hasta que los informes de progreso salen para el próximo período de nueve semanas. Si usted todavía no está pasando por el tiempo informe de progreso, entonces es la discreción de los entrenadores para revisar sus calificaciones en dos semanas. .

• No hay atajos & Beyond / trabajo que falta
Si un atleta gana NSC & Beyond que deben asistir hasta que todo el trabajo que falta es completa y está firmado por el maestro supervisor NSC en los días de práctica.
Estudiante / Los atletas deben asistir hay atajos hasta que todo el trabajo esté completo para los partidos en casa. Sin embargo, deben viajar con el equipo para los partidos como visitante, pero no pueden jugar hasta que la asignación que falta es completa y firmada por el entrenador.
• Política de Asistencia
Las prácticas y los juegos son obligatorios. Funciones de la escuela (es decir, de tutoría, viajes de campo, etc.) son ausencias justificadas, pero hay atajos no lo es. Es importante que los atletas adopten los siguientes comportamientos:
1. Tratar a los oponentes con el respeto que se merecen como personas y como seres humanos.
2. Se estrechan las manos con los opositores y les deseamos un buen juego cuando sea apropiado.
3. El ejercicio de auto-control en todo momento, aceptar el juicio de los funcionarios como sólo eso, el mejor juicio que podría hacer dado lo que saben y ven. Nunca discuta o hacer gestos que indican falta de respeto por el juicio de los funcionarios.
4. Acepte la victoria y la derrota con el orgullo y la compasión. Felicitar a los opositores de una manera sincera siguiente victoria o la derrota.
5. Aceptar seriamente la responsabilidad y privilegio de representar a la escuela y la comunidad.
Los jugadores deben abstenerse de las siguientes conductas inapropiadas:
1. burlándose de funcionarios, opositores o espectadores
2. El uso de malas palabras
3. Daños / destrucción / robo de propiedad de la escuela

Como un padre Camino usted es un representante de nuestra escuela y lo que representa. Esperamos que todos los padres sostener nuestro lema "El equipo y la familia", y ejercer la autodisciplina en todas las competiciones. Creemos en la motivación de nuestro equipo en ganar al alentar a nuestro equipo, no desalentar la competencia. Todas las quejas deben ir directamente al Director de Deportes, no el entrenador. Nunca debes hablar con un entrenador antes o durante un juego sobre una inquietud o queja.
Los espectadores deben abstenerse de comportamientos inapropiados:
1. Verbal / abuso físico de los funcionarios y entrenadores.
2. Reprender jugadores, entrenadores u otros espectadores.
3. Interrupción del concurso por comportamientos como entrar en el área de juego y / o comportamiento disruptivo.
Si alguna de las expectativas mencionadas son violados, entonces su membresía en el equipo puede ser revisada por el Director / Subdirector / Director Atlético / autocar.
