Application Support Engineer
Open Sky Data Systems are seeking experienced Application Support Engineers with both customer support and .NET skills for an initial 6 month remote working contract with a view to potential permanent role based in Naas, Ireland.
The ideal candidate will enjoy problem solving and troubleshooting across different applications & customers and be proficient in the development/fix of web based information management system using .NET and SQL Server.
Description of Position:
· Diagnose, analyze and reproduce customer issues to ensure understanding of root cause of software problems
· Technical customer support, setting up, configuring and monitoring web-application servers
· Resolve core application issues through direct action or by escalating non-resolvable issues to development team
· Pro-actively contact key customers to review progress and offer technical support
· Application Maintenance / Bug fixing
· Data Analysis / System Queries
· On-going Development / System Enhancements
Necessary skills:
· ASP.NET experience - at least 2 years
· MVC/C# experience
· IIS Application Server/General Web Server experience
· Strong SQL Server experience
· Good level of English, both spoken and written
· Higher Education
· Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Client operating systems
· Minimum of 2 years in a similar position (Commercial Experience only)
Desirable skills:
· Experience trouble shooting IP network issues
· Knowledge of HTTP & HTTPS protocols
· Scripting experience
· Experience with software monitoring and performance tools
Personal skills:
• Required creative thinking and personal initiative
• Quick learner of new technologies
· Must have excellent client facing interpersonal and communication skills.
· Equally important is your ability to work well in a team environment and the ability to problem solve at any level
