Provide for exemption from Arizona university admission requirements for: Students who complete the AGEC A, AGEC B, or AGEC S with a minimum 2.0 2.5 on a 4.0=A scale, or students who complete an associate or higher degree from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution with a minimum 2.0 on a 4.0=A scale for Arizona residents and a minimum 2.5 on a 4.0=A scale for non-residents.

Courses completed at one of the Maricopa Community Colleges to meet the General Electives requirement must be listed in the Course Equivalency Guide (CEG) within the Arizona Course Applicability System (AZCAS) as an equivalent course, departmental elective credit (XXXXDEC), or general elective credit (Elective) at all Arizona public universities. All courses used to satisfy electives must be transferable to the university or universities to which the student plans to transfer, as elective credit or better. For appropriate course selection, students should consult with an advisor.

·  Addition of new language for Common Courses in Shared Majors under Policies that Govern the Associate in Arts Degree: Courses completed at one of the Maricopa Community Colleges to satisfy Common Courses must be transferable as elective or better to the universities that have the shared majors listed on a Common Course Matrix. A shared major is a university degree program that has similar academic preparation to one or more degree programs at other Arizona public universities as listed on the Common Course Matrices. For appropriate course selection, students should consult with an advisor.

·  Change to the language under the General electives Requirement: Students must select MCCCD courses that are transferable to the university or universities to which the student plans to transfer, as elective credit or better acceptable as an equivalent course, departmental elective credit (XXXXDEC), or general elective credit (Elective) at all Arizona public universities according to the Arizona CEG within the AZCAS. For appropriate course selection, students should consult with an advisor.

·  A question was raised by the A&R Council regarding course options available under the Quantitative Methods requirement Are there other acceptable options beyond the courses listed here? According to the Major Guides for Business available on aztransfer.com, MAT220/ 221 and MAT230/231 are also acceptable.

*Students planning to attend ASU W.P. Carey will be required to take MAT217 or MAT218

·  Course changes were made to the Business Electives area per a previous request from the IC

MKT271 and SBU200 courses have been added as options to the business electives area and CIS163AA has been removed as an option. Per the chair, the 163AA course is no longer taken by ABUS students. The rationale for the additions is that along with other business electives, students can try out a major before they commit to a major when applying to a university business school.

·  This item has been routed to the Business instructional council for review and comment; at this time the council is still reviewing options for content changes to the degree. Based on the pending changes for the degree final action on this will be held until the April DCC Meeting.
