Date: 14 March 2015 (Saturday) from 10am to 3pm

Place: Amah Rock and Lion Rock, Shatin, New Territories (part of MacLehose Trail Stage 5)

Assembly Point: MTR East Rail Tai WaiStation, Exit C (HSBC ATMs)

Background Information

Come join us for a refreshing way to start the weekend with a hike in the New Territories. The hike begins at Hung Mui Kuk and makes its way gently to the Amah Rock (Mong Fu Shek) and then a brief stop at the Reunification Pavilion for a glimpse of Kowloon Tong below. After seeing some families of monkeys on the way we will reach for the top of Lion Rock for panoramic vistas of the Kowloon Peninsula, Victoria Habour and Hong Kong Island.

The invitation is especiallyextended to the EAHK Young Members, so come along for a great hike.

Duration: Total approx. 5 hours (A big hearty breakfast is recommended)

Level of Difficulty: 2 (Amah Rock) to 4 (Lion Rock)

Items to bring: Sturdy shoes, warm clothing, fluids, energy snacks, hiking sticks (optional)

Notice for Registration

1.The number of participants is limited to 20, and priority will be given to EAHK members.

2.All participants should be responsible for their own safety and belongings and need to sign an Undertaking upon registration.

3.If typhoon signal no. 1(or above) or the rainstorm warning (red or black) is hoisted or announced to be hoisted in effect within two hours prior to the start of the visit, the visit will be cancelled without further notice.

Form of Undertaking

I fully understand and willingly accept that any invitation or permission gives to me to the Hiking event shall be subject to but not exclusive to the following conditions:-

  1. Engineers Australia, Hong Kong Chapter (EAHK) and/or the organizer(s) shall owe no common duty of care to any visitor in respect of risks or dangers arising from the state of the facilities, or execution of any work or the carrying out of any activities therein.
  1. EAHK and/or the organizer(s) shall be absolved from all liabilities arising out of any incident or accidents causing loss, damage or personal injury (whether fatal or otherwise) howsoever caused to the visitor and whether the same is caused by negligence or not.

I am also fully aware that the signing of this Form of Undertaking by me shall indicate my acceptance of any risk or danger encountered due to the event dated 14 March 2015.
