Position: Technical Manager for Wolf Steel Foundry

Reports to:General Manager

SupervisesProcess engineer, finishing inspectors, maintenance personnel

Purpose:Ensure all technical aspects of operation are defined, executed to and continuously improved including; quality, equipment, process, methoding, and development of team

Responsibility:

  • Quality: Ensure that
  • Customers have provided adequate specificity in purchase orders
  • Managing ISO program including external and internal auditors
  • ISO/QMS systems are implemented and improved
  • Quality of delivered castings meets customers’ specifications
  • Support quoting of new products
  • First article part process and part release
  • Lead investigations of all corrective actions relating to scrap or returns
  • Monitor. report, and minimize scrap, return and rework
  • Meet or exceed KPI’s
  • Methoding of existing and new parts, new product item set up including BOM and routes
  • Reactive and preventive maintenance, including enhancement to existing program
  • Manageand develop maintenance personal, finishing inspectors, and process engineering
  • Recommend improvements to capital equipment and preventive maintenance program
  • Ensure supplier quality meets specification needs (heat treat, incoming raw materials)
  • Creation and implementation of process control system including materials, calibrations
  • Train new process engineer, inspectors, departmental leads
  • Lead problem solving efforts and continuous improvement activities to improve safety, quality, productivity

Authority:

  • Release products for production
  • Release heats and raw material
  • Put product and process on production hold
  • Create deviation for product or process
  • Procure spare parts under $2,500
  • Employee performance management and development

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated progressive leadership and management experience within an industrial manufacturing company (10 years experience preferred)
  • Implemented and managed QMS with minimum 10 years of experience
  • 5 years minimum foundry experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
