Course Objective:
The course aims at providing attendees with an update on the property fraud cases in Hong Kong and the common modi operandi of fraudsters in property fraud including impersonation of landlord. The course will also provide advice on precautionary measures against property fraud and examine the major security features of Hong Kong (“HK”) Smart Identity Card.

Miss Crystal Hois a Detective Chief Inspector of Police who is currently attached to the Fraud Section of Commercial Crime Bureau (“CCB”) of the Hong Kong Police Force. The Fraud Section of CCB is responsible for investigations into serious and complex commercial fraud, obtaining property or pecuniary advantage by deception, false accounting and offences of a kindred nature.
Mr. Simon Lee is a Senior Immigration Officer who is currently attached to the Operational Research Section (ORS) of the Hong Kong Immigration Department (“Department”). ORS is the central body of intelligence exchange in the Department in the aspects of clandestine migration and the use of forged travel documents.
Enrolment Conditions:
- The course is open to all solicitors and trainee solicitors. Enrolments will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis, with priority given to those who are subject to the CPD and RME obligations.
- Places cannot be reserved by facsimile. Registrations will only be accepted upon full payment of the course fee and receipt of the registration form.
- Course fees shall under no circumstances be refunded. If you cannot attend a booked course, you may transfer your booking to a replacement delegate provided that the Academy is notified in writing at least one clear day in advance of the scheduled course date.
- If the course becomes full and you wish to have your name entered onto the waiting list of this course, please complete the enrolment slip and return it to the Academy together with the payment of the appropriate course fee. You will be notified before the date of the course if we are able to offer you a place at the course. A registrant whose enrolment is unsuccessful will receive a refund of the appropriate course fee.
