LONG TERM PROJECTS
> Due in a minimum of one week from date assigned.
>Examples: research papers, portfolios, speeches.
>Projects are due at the beginning of the class on due date.
>After the due date, a 10% penalty of the total assigned points will be assessed per day
for four days.
>After the four days have passed, the assignments will be given a zero.
Example: For an assignment worth 100 points, you earned 80 but turn your assignment in two days late. 20% of the total will be deducted from your score. 80/100 - 20 = 60/100.
COLLECTED HOMEWORK
>This is homework that is turned in for a grade and checked for accuracy.
>Due at the beginning of the period on the date due.
> Assignment may be turned in one day late, but will only be awarded 70% of the assigned points.
>After 1 day late, the assignment will be given a zero.
Example: An assignment worth 20 points is turned in late. The maximum number of points that can be earned is 70% of the 20 or 14/20.
CHECKED HOMEWORK
>These are assignments that are looked at by the teacher for completion but are not
collected.
>Usually limited to short-term homework assignments.
>Completed assignments will receive the maximum points. Partially competed
homework will receive a reduction of points and incomplete homework will receive
a zero.
GENERAL GUIDELINES
>Any work not turned in when collected by teacher at the beginning of the period will be
considered late.
>Late work and make-up work must be handed into the teacher at the beginning of the
day agreed upon by the student and the teacher.
If you are absent from school, refer to the homework policy in the Student Handbook.
>If you are in school the day a test is announced but are absent the day before the test is
given, you are expected to take the test on the scheduled day.
>Students who leave early or arrive late to school must turn in the day's work to the
teacher and receive any assignments.
