Description of Bulletin:
The purpose of this Bulletin is to inform all approved installation Service Suppliers of the proper methodology required when securing either 200A or 400A rectifiers in the Qwest power room environment.
In addition to the following, it should be noted that the proper floor anchor for battery stands in the power room environment remains the approved Hilti power equipment anchor (Item # 97413007). For power room specific frameworks (e.g., power boards, rectifiers and stanchions), the Service supplier will use the standard Hilti floor anchor with the red-coded tamper ring (Item # 002307122). TP 77350 Par. 3.21; 3.21.1 will also be amended to reflect this change; which is effective as of November 15, 2002.

Rectifier Top Support Guidelines
General
· Requirements that identify dual lineup configurations apply to rectifiers that are installed back-to-back.
· Bays over 7 feet in height cannot be deployed in Floor Supported Environments.
· Top supports shall not interfere with Busbar and AC conduit arrangements above the rectifiers.
· Brackets used to junction rectifiers and support cable distribution systems must be NEBS compliant for that application.
NOTE: Junction brackets illustrated in top views are for reference only and may be oriented as needed as long as they do not extend beyond the footprint of the rectifier.
Floor Supported Environments
Rectifiers 7 feet tall
· A maximum distance of 8" is allowed from the top of a rectifier to the bottom of the auxiliary framing. 1/2" threaded rod shall not be used for this application.
· Auxiliary framing shall be used immediately on top of the rectifier where 1/2" threaded rod/bolt must be used to secured to top of the rectifier.
Rectifiers less than 7 feet tall
· Deployment in Floor Supported environments is not recommended.
· Where deployment cannot be avoided custom top support arrangements shall be identified per office conditions. Contact AMC for resolution.
Ceiling Supported Environments
· Apply standard ironwork grid requirements per TP 77351.
· Auxiliary framing shall be positioned similar to the illustrations for single and dual lineup environments.
· Top support option for dual lineup environments. Front and rear auxiliary framing must be available.
The following diagrams illustrate support for 200A and 400A type rectifiers in single and dual lineup configurations.Dual Lineup Environments
