Solutions Architect

  1. Organisational Relationships

Reporting to:

Head of Solutions

Liaises With:

Business Directors, Business Managers, Business Consultants, Delivery Managers, Project Managers, IT Support, Development Resources, Resource Manager, Clients, Partners, Suppliers.

  1. Role Summary

Reporting to the Head of Solutions, the Solutions Architectwill primarily be responsible for deliveringto clients in accordance with agreed project plans in a cost effective and timely manner to agreed quality standards.

3.Main Duties

  • Act as a technical mentor and advisor for development teams in matters of software design, with anemphasis on .NETrelated technologies, both internally and at existing customer accounts;
  • Coordinate definition of baseline standards and guidelines
  • Take ownership of technical aspects of customer relationships;
  • Produce proof of concept and reference implementations for technical requirements
  • Advise on deployment architecture, with an emphasis on cloud based hosting including Amazon, Azure etc.
  • Keep the company abreast of significant developments in the areas of Software Development andDeployment, and assist the organisation in keeping at the forefront of established technologies.
  • Assist in technical performance review and mentoring of staff.
  • Provide occasional support in pre-sales activities (not responsible for leading pre-sales activities,only supporting under guidance), in terms of;

○Demonstrating the technical capability of the organisation;

○Assisting the customer to envision the proposed technical solution

  • Preparation of business case documentation, functional specifications, process mapping, report writing and presentational material as required.
  • Develop and maintain current knowledge on initiatives appropriate to the Business Analyst role.
  • When required, assist in the writing of proposals for new business and in the development of new service offerings.
  • Act as an interface between the client and the business.
  • Maintain and build relationships with clients, partners and suppliers.
  • Evaluating and making recommendations for new technologies and platforms in response to business needs.
  • Produce solution recommendations, designs and implementation plans

  • The holder of a current driving licence accepted in the UK, able to travel and on occasions, stay away on business.
  • Able to work flexible hours necessary to achieve the varying requirements of the business
  1. Technical Skills

Essential

The successful candidate for the post will ideally have the following skills:

  • Strong knowledge of design and integration principles for relational databases
  • Understanding of Systems and Technical Solutions
  • Understanding of Data Management
  • Presentationalskills
  • Solution Definition, Proposal Creation and Cost Analysis
  • Business Case Production
  • Knowledge of developing KPI’s
  • Be open to, and knowledgeable on, the relative merits of a wide range of technologies and solutions to ensure the right fit is always achieved
  • Recent commercial experience in deploying production workloads in Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Amazon Web Services Technical Architect – Associate certification or equivalent experience
  • More than three years’ experience in developing software using Java
  • More than three years’ experience in using automated deployment and Continuous Integration tools such as Chef Automate, Terraform and Puppet to work independently with a high degree of integrity and accountability
  • Technical experience in of the following: Agile deployment processes, SaaS/cloud environments, REST Web Services, Java/JavaScript, XML, Data transformation / ETL, Experience within Unix and Windows environments

  • Land and Property portfolio asset management process
  • Geographic Information Systems

  • PMP, PRINCE2 or ITIL certification a plus
