POT BLACK which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.
Post-race veterinary examinations of DAWN PROSPECT (KT Cheng), ANTELIER LIBRE (J Keating) and POT BLACK revealed no obvious abnormality.
When questioned regarding the apparent disappointing performance of JOHNNY’S CAFE, Trainer Shane Edwards stated that he was unable to give any tangible explanations to the poor performance, as he had expected a good showing from the gelding today. Jockey Lou Ho stated that after securing a good jump, JOHNNY’S CAFE, which was racing keenly, was difficult to settle at about the 800M. From the 400M, when he asked for an effort, the gelding failed to run and was disappointing. Trainer Shane Edwards was advised to report back to the Stewards should he find anything amiss with the gelding during the week. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality. JOHNNY’S CAFE was impounded.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of DAWN PROSPECT, Trainer Ms. Evelyn Seet could offer no explanation as the horse had done well in the stable since winning, other than the horse having to carry top weight and she believes that DAWN PROSPECT may not be a weight-carrier. DAWN PROSPECT will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.

SCOTT FREE (CK Tan) was hampered at the start when NIGHT DEMON (App AK Lim) jumped awkwardly and TRUE HERITAGE (Lou Ho) which jumped awkwardly inwards. Both SCOTT FREE and NIGHT DEMON lost ground in this incident.
GOOD TASTE (TM Wan) raced keenly during the early and middle stages. At approximately the 900M, GOOD TASTE shifted out abruptly and bumped GOLD STAR PRINCESS (App AM Aizat) and continued to race wide rounding the home turn.
When questioned, Jockey TM Wan stated that he was instructed to race in a midfield position, 4th/5th/6th. He stated that the gelding raced very greenly throughout. Trainer PK Leong confirmed the riding instruction and was of the opinion that GOOD TASTE after resuming from a five-month spell, raced ungenerously throughout. Stewards noted their explanation however, informed Jockey TM Wan that he was given the benefit of the doubt on this occasion and warned to ride all his mounts in a manner so as to leave no room for query. GOOD TASTE which raced greenly throughout, will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again.

BUNGAE (App KP Lim) and CLAYBURY (J Keating) were slow into stride.
INTENTION (KT Cheng) made the first turn awkwardly and continued to race keenly until approximately the 800M. When questioned, Jockey KT Cheng stated that he was instructed to ride in a handy position, 3rd/4th/5th over a 1600M long course. The gelding was difficult to settle in the early and middle stages and throwing its head up on a number of occasions. When he asked for an effort in the straight, the gelding failed to respond and was disappointing. With the benefit of hindsight, Jockey KT Cheng stated that the gelding would raced better if allowed to stride in a forward position. His explanation was noted. As Trainer Evelyn Seet had left the course, she will be questioned at a date to be fixed.
At approximately the 1100M, Q NINE MASTER (HS Gill) had to be steadied when LUCK DRAGON (App CT Lee) rolled in and took NEVERUNCONDITIONAL (App KC Wong) onto Q NINE MASTER which had to steady. Shortly thereafter, Q NINE MASTER stumbled.
At approximately the 900M, Q NINE MASTER dipped and continued to lose ground from there onwards. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of Q NINE MASTER, Jockey HS Gill stated that he was instructed to ride in a midfield position. However, after stumbling twice, he stated that the gelding lost interest in the race inspite of him urging the gelding along and in his opinion, the gelding was disappointing today. Q NINE MASTER which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000m/vet) before being declared to race again. The gelding was impounded.
From approximately the 800M, BUNGAE raced wide rounding the home turn.

PERAK MARCH MEETING 2015, SUNDAY, 22 MARCH 2015
The Stewards concluded an Inquiry today into the fall of JUST BLESSED (F Yap), BEYOND WEALTH (App KK Chin), ANTELIER LIBRE (M Wepner) and Jockey M Razali, the rider of JOYFUL. After viewing the videos and taking submissions from Jockeys F Yap, M Wepner, M Razali and App CT Lee, in the presence of his master Trainer HS Lim, the Stewards established that at approximately the 900M, JUST BLESSED was steadied when LA QUINTA (App CT Lee) rolled in slightly and BEYOND WEALTH which was following, galloped onto the heels of JUST BLESSED, causing that horse to slip behind and fell, resulting in BEYOND WEALTH and ANTELIER LIBRE which was following, fell. JOYFUL was unable to avoid the fallen horses and cannoned onto the hind quarters of JUST BLESSED which was attempting to get up off the ground, dislodging Jockey M Razali. As the Stewards were unable to attribute any blame to any individual rider, no further action was taken.

PERAK EARLY MAY MEETING 2015, SUNDAY, 3RD MAY 2015
The Stewards concluded an Inquiry on Tuesday, 12th May 2015 into the riding of HERE COMES THUNDER in the above race.
Further evidence were taken from Jockey J Chuah and Trainer Wong Kong Fatt, rider and Trainer of HERE COMES THUNDER respectively. After taking all evidence into consideration and viewing the videos, Jockey J Chuah was found guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) in that he failed to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards and the particulars of the charge are:-
1) After securing a good jump, he made insufficient effort to hold his position in the field when there was opportunity to do so, for approximately the first 100M of the race.
2) From approximately the 350M to approximately the 220M, he failed to ride his mount with sufficient vigour and determination when there was opportunity to do so.
3) At approximately the 180M, he unnecessarily restrained his mount.
When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account Jockey J Chuah’s riding record and mitigating factors. Jockey J Chuah was suspended from riding in races for a period of four (4) months. Acting under the provision of MRA Rule 48(5), the Stewards deferred Jockey J Chuah’s suspension to commence from Monday, 18th May 2015 and to expire on Thursday, 17th September 2015, both dates inclusive and he was informed of his Right of Appeal (5.15pm).
