Edmond FFA Member Wins State FFA Job Interview Career Development Event

STILLWATER, Okla. —Emily Kennedy of the Edmond FFA Chapter won first place in the State FFA Job Interview Career Development Event during the 2018Oklahoma FFA Career Development Events at Oklahoma State University April 27.
Kennedy will represent Oklahoma in the Job Interview Career Development Event at the National FFA Convention in October. Her agricultural education instructors and FFA advisers areTrevor Lucas, Kenneth Leatherwood and Jeremy Schmidt.
Carli Seabolt of the Perry FFA Chapter placed second. Tanner Milleris the Perry agricultural education instructor and FFA adviser.
Katherine Cockreham of the WoodwardFFA Chapter placed third.The Woodwardagricultural education instructors and FFA advisersareRobert Laubach and Emily Sewell.
Landri Chaplin of the Weatherford FFA Chapter placed fourth. Her agricultural education instructor and FFA adviser isPhillip Major.
Cade Jenlink of the Timberlake FFA Chapter placed fifth. The Timberlakeagricultural education instructor and FFA adviser is Ashley Gaff.
The job interview career development event is designed for FFA members to develop, practice and demonstrate skills needed in seeking employment in the agricultural industry. Each participant must create a cover letter and résumé as well as complete a job application prior to the contest. Personal interviews are conducted during this event. In addition, participants submit a follow-up letter after the personal interview.
The OSU College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources hosted the contest. American Farmers & Ranchers and Pioneer Cellular provide a cash award for expenses related to participation in the national contest.
