2 / Course Title / MODERN VEHICLE TECHNOLOGY
3 / Credits / 4
4 / Contact Hours (L-T-P) / 4-0-0
5 / Course Objective / To enhance knowledge of Modern Vehicle technology by showing newly developed engines which includes Automotive gearbox, Brakes components, Fuel injection system. This information use to understand modern vehicle design along with its significance in modern world.
6 / Course Outcomes / On successful completion of this module students will be able to understand
  1. Different castings in engines as Hybrid Vehicles, Magnetic track vehicles, which enhance power performance.
  2. Disc brakes, Self-energising disc brakes concepts using discs as the friction surfaces comparable with that of drum brakes
  3. To understand the use of safety-cage, air-bags-crash resistance – passenger comfort.
  4. Automatic gearboxes and transmissions helps to control complexity and weight by applying fluid coupling to replace clutch and use magnetic clutch.
  5. Estimate performance of different fuel injection system.
  6. Attention on exhaust emission control by hydrocarbon fuel under catalytic conversion analysis
