PACE Education Administrator
Pattison’s Academy of Comprehensive Education, in Charleston, SC, currently has an opening for their Education Administratorposition to serve as the instructional leader of the school and oversee the day to day operations. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: leading a team of educators to advance the mission of the school; develop a student centered school culture built on innovative, research based instructional strategies; and ensure compliance with all federal and state laws concerning a public charter school. Qualified applicants should have experience in providing ADEPT evaluations (or similar teacher evaluations and a willingness to be trained in state required systems) and IEP coordination along with at least 1 year experience in school administration. Applicants should demonstrate a willingness to work collaboratively in a challenging, entrepreneurial atmosphere with a focus on growing PACE’s successful model to serve more students each school year. Job Description:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide instructional leadership and oversee the day to day operations of the public charter school.
- Develop a student centered school culture built on innovative, research based instructional strategies and encourages collaboration to meet the full range of student needs.
- Lead a team of educators and staff to advance the mission of the school by developing excellence in the PACE classrooms and operations.
- Communicate and build a great rapport with students, families, staff, and community members.
- Ensure compliance with all school policies, the approved charter contract, compliance with all federal and state laws concerning a public charter school.
- Continually advance school’s academic program based on the latest research.
- Develop a system for ongoing evaluation of teacher performance and professional development that is linked with measurable results and implement the State required evaluation systems, such as ADEPT.
- Plan and implement appropriate ongoing professional development for the classroom staff.
- Collaborate closely with other school
- leaders to plan and prepare for academic, social, fiscal, and other transition issues.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the school’s extracurricular, intervention, service learning, and enrichment programs.
- Assist in the successful implementation of systems for managing information and communications such as scheduling and student management.
- Plan for and implement the appropriate accreditation of PACE.
- Plan and participate in appropriate community outreach and open houses for student recruitment.
- Ensure accurate and current student records are maintained according to the established recordkeeping format.
Required Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:
- Experience and knowledge in all aspects of current IDEA law, regulations and implementation of those regulations.
- Experience and knowledge in development and implementation of Individual Education Plan.
- Experience and knowledge of working with individuals with disabilities and the supports needed in the educational, home and community environments to facilitate learning, inclusion, and participation.
- Leadership skills to work collaboratively in a challenging, entrepreneurial atmosphere with a focus on growing PACE’s successful model to serve more students each school year.
- An understanding of South Carolina Charter School law.
- Experience in providing ADEPT evaluations (or similar teacher evaluations and a willingness to be trained in state required systems).
- At least 1 year experience in school administration.
This position will report to a CEO.

The Director of Education will comply with all terms and conditions of employment as approved by the PACE Charter Committee and subsequent board in the PACE employee handbook. PACE Charter Committee members and subsequently members of the school’s Board of Directors will approve the terms of employment for all employees. These terms will comply with Para 41-10-30 of the SC Code of Laws, 19
