A Resolution to Require All Armed Patrolmen to Wear Body Cameras While on Duty

WHEREAS, We can see through the major problem concerning police brutality; and

WHEREAS, The difficulty in solving the problem as we cannot successfully evaluate

the situations involving alleged police brutality; and

WHEREAS, Distrust of our police force will continue unless there is a clear solution;

Therefore be it:

RESOLVED, By the Congress here assembled that all armed patrolmen be required to

wear body cameras while on duty.

A Bill to Legalize Recreational and Medicinal Use of Cannabis

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1. Recreational and Medicinal Use of cannabis is hereby decriminalized.

SECTION 2. Cannabis is defined as a genus of flowering plant that includes three

species: sativa, indica, and ruderalis.

SECTION 3. The DEA will oversee implementation of this new policy.

Any convictions associated with the previous use or possession of cannabis will be

vacated within a year of the passage of this bill.

SECTION 4. This law will put into effect on January 1st, 2017.

SECTION 5. All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and

void.

A Bill to Prevent Convicted RapistsFrom Seeking Parental Rights of Children Conceived from Rape

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

Section 1.Persons tried and convicted of rape will hereby be prohibited from suing for parental rights of children conceived through the act of rape.

Section 2.Rape is defined as unlawful sexual activity and usually sexual intercourse carried out forcibly or under threat of injury against the will usually of a female or with a person who is beneath a certain age or incapable of valid consent.

Section 3.The U.S. Department of Justice will oversee the passing of this bill.

  1. This bill is a procedural change so there will be no additional funding required.

SECTION 4.This bill will come into effect on January 1st, 2017

Section 5.All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.

A Resolution to Double the Alcohol Tax

WHEREAS,America currently has a major crime and violence problem; and

WHEREAS,Alcohol is a major factor in many crimes throughout America; and

WHEREAS,Alcohol is also the four leading preventable cause of death in the United States; and

WHEREAS,A doubling of the alcohol tax would not be regressive and would lower both crime rates and preventable deaths; now, therefore, be it

National Tax on tobacco

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

Section 1. States should have a minimum tax on cigarettes of $3.00 per pack. Currently the national average for cigarette tax is $1.35 per pack, Kentucky's cigarette tax is currently the lowest in the nation at $0.60 per pack. If more states increase their tax on cigarettes per pack the nationwide epidemic of smoking would decrease and the money could help better many cities all over the nation. Cigarette tax in states that meet the national average or above generates approximately $275,000,000 and raises income to $550,000,00 annually.

Section 2. By increasing the tax on cigarettes per pack the acknowledgment that smoking ends lives will cause longer lifespans, a decrease in the price of insurance, and a better overall public health. An estimated 480,000 American adults died last year from smoking, and 41,000 Americans died from exposure to second-hand smoke. This causes for the price of medical care to increase and insurances to raise their prices.

Section 3. This bill should go into effect immediately upon passage. Section 4. All laws in conflict with this legislation are to be nulled and void.

A Bill to Eliminate Capital Punishment

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1. Capital punishment shall no longer be utilized by the United States federal government as a punishment for any federal crime.

SECTION 2. Capital punishment is defined as “The legally authorized killing of someone as a punishment for crime.” Any methods that have been approved by the US are hereby banned from use in any federal prison. Any inmates on death row in a federal prison are to be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

SECTION 3. The Federal Bureau of Prisons and the Department of Justice shall oversee the implementation of this change.

SECTION 4. This measure will be implemented on January 1st, 2018.

SECTION 5. All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.

A BILL TO REPAIR CYBERCOM TO ENHANCE NATIONAL SECURITY

BE IT ENACTED BY THE STUDENT CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

1SECTION 1:The United States Cyber Command (hereafter referred to as

2CYBERCOM) should receive more funding to combat foreign cyber

3threats.

4SECTION 2: The funding for cyber security shall come out of the armed forces’ budget 5 as a whole instead with CYBERCOM administrating all matters

6involving cyber security.

7SECTION 3:The legislation shall go into effect immediately upon passage.

8SECTION 4: The Department of Defense shall oversee the implementation of this

9 legislation.

10SECTION 5: All laws in conflict with this bill are hereby declared null and void.

A RESOLUTION TO REFORM THE DRAFT

BE IT ENACTED BY THIS CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

1WHEREAS: Women have all rights and privileges

2WHEREAS: Women should have the same obligation as men to join the draft board.

3WHEREAS: Obligation is defined as a right and duty to something or someone. Draft

4 Board is defined as board-giving civilians charged with registering, classifying and

5selecting persons for the United States military service unless physically unable.

6WHEREAS: The government agency responsible for the enforcement of this bill is the

7Selective Service. Enforcement of this bill will remain the same for women as it is for

8men.

9WHEREAS: This agency charged with maintaining registrations will remain the same,

10 therefore, no additional funding will be required.

11BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED BY THIS CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED that

12effective January 1st 2017, all females must register for selective services by their 18th

13birthday and maintain registration until their 30th birthday. In the event of a draft, females

14would be eligible to be include in the lottery with males.

15 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby

16declared null and void
