50th Annual Caddo Conference

Final Call for Papers: We encourage submissions that reflect upon the past 50 years of Caddo research, as well as new researchdirections.Of course, we also invite research papers that examineother aspects of Caddo archaeology, ethnography, and history.

Poster Session: Posters should relate information on some aspect of Caddo culture in a manner that will be useful for presentation to the general public.The posterswill be on display during the conference and available after the conference for use by the Caddo and others involved in public education. Electronic files may be submitted for printing here.

11:30-1:30 Dedication of the Fish Hatchery Site Caddo Memorial Plaza at the Natchitoches National Fish Hatchery. FREE Lunch for all attendees will be provided at the site by F.I.S.H. (Friends in Support of the Hatchery).

1:30-4:30 Papers

Friday Night – Dinner on your own

Saturday 9:00-12:00 Papers

12:00-2:00 Lunch on your own

2:00-4:30 Papers, business meeting

5:00-6:00 Turkey Dance – Caddo Culture Club

6:00-7:00 Catered Creole Dinner

7:00-10:00 Caddo Culture Club Dance

Times are approximate, depending in large part on the number of paper submissions.

·  The Friday lunch is free to all who attend the dedication at the Fish Hatchery.

·  The Saturday evening meal will be catered by one of the premier Creole cooks in Natchitoches. To make sure that she prepares enough food for the dinner, please return registration by February 15.

·  If you have digital copies of photographs from prior conferences, stories or memories of past conferences, participants, etc., that you would like to include in the commemorative program, please email by Feb. 8.

·  We will hold the silent auction again this year. Please think about what you might be able to contribute.
