Job Title:International Coalition Trachoma Control (ICTC) Project Coordinator

Sightsavers’ vision is of a world where no one is blind from avoidable causes and where visually impaired people participate equally in society. We are an international organisation working with partners in developing countries to eliminate avoidable blindness and promote equality of opportunity for people with disabilities.Sightsavers is a member of The International Coalition for Trachoma Control (ICTC). Established in 2004, ICTC is a large and diverse coalition of 44 members and observers, comprising International Non-Governmental Development Organisations, training institutions, researchers, academics, and industry supporters with scientific, programmatic, and field-based expertise in tackling trachoma. Members are committed to the elimination of trachoma as a public health problem by 2020 and they collaborate on game-changing initiatives with governments, health authorities, and trachoma-endemic communities.
This role will hosted by another ICTC member, based in central London, and work closely with the NTD Operations Director of Sightsavers.
1) Job Purpose
The ICTC Project Coordinator will ensure the smooth day to day running of the Coalition and delivery of specific strategic planning and communications initiatives that support the global program.
2) Main Responsibilities
- Monitoring and reporting progress of objectives and goals of the program, through internal and external communications (reports, speeches, conference presentations, quarterly member updates, website and social media).
- Researching factors that impact the success of the program, and working with individuals or groups to provide appropriate input.
- Developing work plans to accomplish objectives and managing progress toward their achievement.
- Supporting the Coalition’s resource mobilization efforts for the global program.
- Providing meeting support to the Executive Group and the Program Advisory Committee and for related project activities.
- Representing the ICTC in relevant meetings (as agreed with the EG).
- Performs related responsibilities as required.
Immediate deliverable:
- Project manage the 5 year sector roadmap for trachoma elimination for release by 26th of April, including the media and dissemination strategies.
The principle accountabilities are not meant to be an exhaustive list of tasks. The need for flexibility is required and the job holder is expected to carry out any other related duties that are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.

- ICTC Executive Group members located in London, Geneva and Nairobi.
- WHO Medical Officer for Trachoma in Geneva.
- Representatives of ITI/Pfizer for the global donation program in Atlanta.
- NTD Operations Director of Sightsavers in Haywards Heath.
- ICTC Project Coordinator based in Atlanta.
4) Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Essential experience of supporting geographically dispersed membership based coalitions
- Experience in international public health programs
- Knowledge of development-focused programming and eye health/trachoma
- Evidence of strong analytic, priority setting, and project management skills
- Influential communication skills and knowledge of print production and online/social media
- Knowledge of website management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with distance leadership and working with diverse stakeholder audiences
- Ability to work with initiative and without close supervision
- Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills
- High attention to detail and quality
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Proficiency in an additional language: Amharic, Arabic, French, Portuguese, or Spanish
- Ability to undertake domestic and international travel according to project or business needs
- An understanding of and commitment to equality of opportunities for disabled people
