Helpful Tips For Trifold-Poster Display

1.  The purpose of poster display is to share information and achievements. These posters motivate others and stimulate others to support ideas or future projects.

2.  Include your Club’s banner/flag-actual or correct size photo.

3.  Plan ahead. Consider how your viewers will be motivated to take action or remember the outcome.

4.  Make a small rough draft of display. Rearrange major components for best effect.

5.  Consider contrasting light on dark, dark on light, etc.

6.  Two or three colors can be more effective than too many colors, and neon colors often clash.

7.  Materials can be computer generated, stenciled, glued, painted, etc.

8.  Different textures provide depth.

9.  Use written material sparingly to keep from cluttering display.

10. Use standard writing style of capital plus lower case lettering – except to emphasize.

11. Vary lettering style and direction.

12. Similar projects or information can be grouped by using the same geometric shape-circles, rectangles, squares, triangles, etc.

13. Leave white space. It is not blank but uncluttered.

14. Add borders around similar projects.

15. Remember pictures.

16. Proof read and have others review.
