Cooking Day / Today we will be cooking our very own Moroccan CousCous! Each child will have the opportunity to make their own meal which they can enjoy.
Provided by Get Kids Cooking, their vision is to empower primary school students with the cooking skills and healthy food literacy to make nutritious food choices, and grow up and feed themselves. This would help the wider community realise savings to public health, as well as the improved quality of life, as these children grow up and become adults.
Get Kids Cooking is working towards building capability through nutritious cooking education programs that will develop collective capacity for the school community to create a healthy future for the students.

Naidoc Day / It’s Naidoc Week across Australia! A time for us to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture and achievements, and recognise Indigenous Australians' contributions to our country.
Murrumittigarprograms have been designed and developed to create a unique opportunity for local schools and their students to participate in an interactive and hands on experience with members of the local Aboriginal community through educational and cultural programs. Their cultural officers introduce various aspects of the Aboriginal culture, history, heritage, traditions and protocols.
Today’s Workshop includes an introduction to Aboriginal Australia, our instruments, weapons and tools through cultural talks, Dreamtime storytelling, boomerang throwing, bush resource walks, didgeridoo talks and traditional art.

Scavenger Hunt / Today we are scavenging through the lands of Carlingford West OOSH!
Students will be involved in several fun introductory activities aimed at teaching direction and orientation. Students will then weave their way through an Orienteering/Treasure Hunt Course following cryptic clues, using a team iPad and their newly attained knowledge. Throughout the session students will learn about how to use a compass, basic principles of direction and orientation, augmented reality and working together as a team. It’s Great fun!
Students will also get to make and keep their own working compass.

Virtual Reality Exploration / Edg VR is a world first in education technology and its coming to CWOOSH! Their facilitator-led sessions use their very own videos, games and CGI content to simultaneously transport your students to another world.
Australia’s Indigenous culture is one of the oldest surviving cultures in the world. In our Virtual Reality experience happening today at OOSH, local Indigenous Pamagirri guides will encourage students to observe and learn about the fascinating dances in Tropical North Queensland. The Pamagirri Aboriginal group performances students witness in a full 360 view, is held in the far north Queensland Rainforest, giving students the experience as if you were really there! With interactive exercises and respectful educational discussions about the Aboriginal life pre-1788, students will be yearning to learn more about your local lands traditional owners.

Later on, at 2pm, we will be having a Great big science Show with foaming chemical reactions, explosions, liquid nitrogen, fireballs and lots of audience interaction!

Gymnastics / Today at OOSH we will be having lots and lots of gymnastics equipment coming to us!
It will be a day packed full of fun using all of ‘Moving Bodies’ gymnastics equipment including a foam pit, trampoline, bars, beams, rebounders, floor work, soft play and more!
Our staff will be present alongside ‘Moving Bodies’ instructors who are not only highly trained and qualified in this area, but also thrive on the energy and challenges presented. Their well trained, caring staff work in pairs to provide excellent, safe lessons for the students.

Silent Disco / How much do you love music? How much do you love to party? As much as us?! Because today at OOSH we are having a silent disco! What’s that you ask? Imagine having a dance party with your friends… entirely through a set of headphones!
Party Higher have developed a series of interactive School Holiday Programs that combine technology, music, dancing, games, trivia, physical activities,mindfulness and more all through our special headphones and conducted by our professionally trained Party Facilitators who will have all your children fully engaged.
Silent Disco is the latest craze sweeping the world. It doesn’t use a traditional speaker system, but rather provides each child with a set of high quality sounding, wireless headphones. Each child can adjust their own volume level too!

Beauty and the Beast - Excursion / We are going on an excursion! Please make sure you arrive on time as the bus will be leaving at 11am Sharp!We anticipate being back at the centre by 3:30pm
Through mist and snow, in a castle far away, there is the most beautiful rose garden. But beware the traveler who stumbles on it.
Meet larger than life characters including Boswell the horse and Beauty’s two silly sisters Anne and Sophia. Help Beauty try to civilize the Beast, but watch out as he learns to use a knife and fork! A classic tale for the whole family filled with laughs and adventures.
Marian Street Theatre for Young People has been creating quality theatre for children for over 45 years with a blend of great storytelling, original music and puppetry, brought to life by the talented young performers from Marian Street Drama School.
Please DO NOT bring money to spend here today as there will be no opportunity for children to purchase any goods.

Dress Up Day / Woo Hoo! Its dress up day at OOSH! Come dressed as your favourite character and enjoy lots of fun activities! You might come as a superhero, or an actor! Maybe even a character from your favourite book! Bring along the DVD, book or game, etc. that you star in so we can share it with everyone!
Infants (K-2): We will be making Capes, Masks and Magical Wizard Wands
Primary (3-6): We will be making Magical Wizard Wands too! Along with bandanas and you will get to DIY your very own T-shirt! If you would like to DIY your own shirt, REMEMBER to bring in a plain shirt from home which Mum and Dad won’t mind you redesigning! / -Morning tea

Closed Public Holidays and a selected period over Christmas.

A late fee of $2.00 per minute will be charged for any child picked up after 6:00 p.m. without any exceptions.

Parking:Parking is available on Felton Road at the Kingsdene end. The nearest cross street is Sandringham Street. DO NOT park on Felton Road from the Baker Street end. The gates are locked up that end of the school and we can NOT open them for you. Sometimes these gates may be open due to teachers or cleaners being at the school but they do NOT come looking for you when they are ready to leave, so if your car is parked in the school grounds, you will get locked in!!!!

Booking Details:Bookings are ESSENTIAL prior to the attending of your child at the vacation care program. Forms need to be returned no later than Friday the 30th of Juneand FULL PAYMENT MUST be paid by this date to secure your placement. YOU MUST ALSO PAY YOUR TERM FEES before your booking will be accepted. Please note: Vacation Care days DO get booked out. Your booking will not be accepted unless there are positions left for that day AND you have paid in FULL by the due date.

Changing your booking:Changes or cancellations may be made to your booking up until 6pm Friday June 30th. After this date / time, no changes or cancellations will be accepted. You may advise us that your child will be absent on a particular day, but you will still be charged for that day. You may add an extra day if we are not booked out, but again, you will still be charged for the original day you booked plus the new additional day.

$46.00 for the 3rd+ child per day

Excursions:All children enrolled in the centre for vacation care are required to go on all excursions planned in the vacation care period (as there will be no staff remaining at the centre on excursion days).

Food:Children are required to bring the stated food as explained in the “daily Information” section of the program. (Lunches may be refrigerated if necessary and heated up in the oven or microwave).

Breakfast is available each morning at no additional cost.

PLEASE NOTE: any child who does not bring their lunch will be provided with a sandwich, and the parent will be charged $5.00 which must be paid on the day.

Clothing:Children are required to be dressed in appropriate clothing for the day’s activities. O.O.S.H. takes no responsibility for children soiling their clothing.

Electronic Devices:Specified times will be communicated with the children for playing electronic devices each day.This is to ensure children engage in other ‘social’ activities. OOSH also takes absolutely NO responsibility of these devices and children need to be made aware that these personal items are their responsibility. It is recommended that all children write their names on the equipment. When devices are not in use, games may be kept in the Office for better protection / supervision.

Sun Protection:Children must wear hats and sunscreen whilst playing outdoors. Children will not be allowed to play outdoors without a hat.
