We will divide into teams next week for the scrimmage on Sept. 12th/13th,

We will finalize teams after the scrimmage.

Playing time is a focus on where kids are placed.

**Some players may change teams during the season if needed. **

Goals for the Season

  1. Positive and enjoyable season. Make the kids want to play again next year !!
  2. Learn the value of hard work, commitment, and being a team player.
  3. Real Life lessons that they can build upon...developing character through adversity.
  4. Develop the individual skills and knowledge they will need at the next level.
  5. Representing their school, teammates, and family with Cougar Pride !!!

Practice Information:

7th Grade - Practice begins at 7:15am daily except for Thursdays.

Players are to take home and wash uniforms on Fridays. Practice pants will be worn for the games….they need to be as clean as possible. Drop athletes off at the bus ramp, not at the back of school by the fields.

8th Grade – Practice ends at 5:00pm daily. (KPark game exceptions) Players will take their uniforms home on Fridays to wash as well. Pick athletes up at the bus ramp, not at the back of school by the fields.

A player MAY wear their own gear as long as it matches and a waiver is signed. (Helmets/Shoulder Pads)

If you have specific equipment issues, just contact any of the coaches.

All equipment that is left out is put into a lost and found. Look here before you buy more.

Any equipment that is lost or not returned must be paid for before we can reissue.

Tutorials:

Academics are the most important thing kids should focus on at school. They have to come first. The tutoring schedule is set up so that students have more than one way to make tutorials so that it is compatible with extracurricular activities for the most part.

IF at all possible, 7th graders should go to afterschool tutorials and 8th graders should go to before school tutorials. There will be times when this does not work out, but missing practices will be limited if possible.

Game Information:

7th Grade play Mon. / 8th Grade on Tues. C-Team @ 5:00pm , B-Team @ 6:00pm, A-Team @ 7:30pm.

All students will ride to the game on the bus, but they may ride home with parents with a “travel release”.

The player will be responsible for all equipment.

The coach must have a travel release in hand before a player can go with the parent.

Pregame Meals: The Booster Club is setting up pre-game meals. They can be purchased for the season.

Bringing food: Lunch time or after 4:00pm only. PLEASE DO NOT DELIVER TO THE SCHOOL OFFICE.

Game Day Shirts: Also available through the Booster Club but completely optional.

Eligibility:

Student-athletes must be passing ALL class at the eligibility grade check to participate in games. If they are not passing, they will sit out for 3 weeks before they can regain eligibility by passing ALL their class, not just the one they failed. If an athlete is ineligible due to grades, THEY WILL STILL PRACTICE EVERYDAY! They just cannot compete in games.

Injuries / Sickness:

If players are sick or injured and at school, they are expected to dress out and to listen and learn at their position for the entire practice. Learning and “mental reps” are very important.

We never want to have an injured athleteparticipating, but some soreness or pain can be worked through if the player can handle it. We will never force a student to participate or belittle them in any way.

Parent notes are acceptable but a doctor’s note may be needed for extended time missed. If you have a doctor’s note that limits a player’s participation, we must have a “return to play” doctor note as well.
