Be assessed on using a surface conditioner on normal hair and scalp which is above shoulder length, within 10 minutes.
Be assessed on using a penetrating conditioner on dry scalp, chemically, heat and environmentally damaged hair which is below shoulder length, within 15 minutes.
Be assessed on using a scalp treatment on product build up, oily, dandruff affected hair and scalp. (If above shoulder within 10 minutes, if below shoulder within 15 minutes).

Practise a finger-dry on curly hair using a diffuser, to create volume movement; using mousse and gel, within 45 minutes if below shoulders and within 35 minutes if above shoulders.
Practise blow-drying on above shoulder length, layered hair; using a round brush; tongs; lotion; creams and sprays, within in 35 minutes.
Be assessed on blow-drying straight hair; below shoulders; one length, using straighteners; flat brush; nozzle; heat protectors and serums with in 45 minutes.
Be assessed on finger drying curly hair with a diffuser to create volume movement, using mousse and gel, within 45 minutes if below shoulders and within 35 minutes if above shoulders.
Be assessed on blow-drying above shoulder length hair, layered hair using a round brush; tongs; lotion; creams and sprays, within 35 minutes.

Research the following setting and dressing products and identify what they are, what they do and how they are used: gels, mousse, setting lotion, serum, creams, sprays, wax.
Observe your colleagues setting and dressing hair.
Observe your colleagues giving aftercare advice for setting and dressing hair.
Practise setting with rollers using on base and off base techniques and brick pattern and directional winding techniques within 45 minutes if below shoulders and within 35 minutes if above shoulders.
Practise pin curling for flat movement and volume using pin curl clips to secure, within 45 minutes if below shoulders and within 35 minutes if above shoulders.
Practise back brushing and smoothing hair that has been set, dried and brushed through.
Practise creating a style using a combination of roller setting and pin curling techniques on above shoulder length hair. Dress using back brushing and smoothing techniques. (If below shoulders with in 45 minutes; if above shoulders within 35 minutes).
Practise setting below shoulder length hair within 45 minutes, using heated rollers in a directional wind.
Practise dressing long hair into a roll within 45 minutes, using backcombing and smoothing techniques and securing with grips and pins.
Practise using tongs and straighteners to create spiral curls on long hair, within 45 minutes.
Be assessed for the following setting and dressing techniques on above shoulder length hair and within 35 minutes: brick wind; on base; point to root; rollers; brushes; pin curls to give volume; pin curls to give flat movement, using pin curl clips. Use setting lotion; wax; spray; back brushing; smoothing.
Be assessed for the following setting and dressing techniques on below shoulder length hair, within 45 minutes: directional wind, off base, heated rollers. Use creams, mousse and dress into a roll using a comb; grips and pins, back combing.
Be assessed creating spiral curls on long hair using tongs and straighteners within 45 minutes.
