2014 – Summer internship & Industrial placement opportunities

IT Department, British Airways, London (Heathrow) & Newcastle

Summer internship and Industrial Placements:

Join our IT team as a Summer intern (2-3 months) or as an Industrial Placement (1 year) and become part of the team responsible for the IT systems, technologies and solutions that help make our airline one of the world's most successful.

Our IT Department is at the heart of BA’s global success, harnessing technology to deliver solutions that both shape and add value to our business by driving cutting-edge, world-class projects.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for undergraduates who have a genuine desire to make a career for yourself in IT. As well as strong analytical, logical thinking and problem solving capabilities, you will have an ability to work effectively in a team and communicate your ideas clearly to others.

It will take a particular blend of enthusiasm, skills and innovative thinking to make a success of your placement, so naturally we will look for qualities in you that tell us you have what is needed.

Ultimately, you will be assigned to a project team and given a real IT project to work on; responsibility for the quality and delivery of this project will be yours.

To apply for this opportunity:

You will need to be studying for a Degree in an IT-disciplined subject and need to possess the right to live and work in the UK indefinitely without sponsorship from British Airways.

Please submit a CV and a covering letter to clearly explaining why you want to work for British Airways and why this sort of work experience appeals to you.

These placements will be based at one of our offices in either London (Heathrow) or Newcastle. If you have a preferred location please state this clearly in your covering letter.

Please state whether you are applying for the Summer internship OR the Industrial Placement on your application:

  • Summer internship – (2-3 months, between July/August/ September 2014)
  • Industrial Placement – (1 year, starting September 2014)

Please note, you can only apply for one of these opportunities.

The closing date for applications is 22nd December 2013.
