Tenders are invited from suitably qualified Structural Engineers to undertake a Structural Survey of 20 Multi Storey Blocks

The Housing Executive has 20 Multi Storey Blocks of various construction typeswhich require a structural survey and report.

REQUIREMENTS

1A full Structural Engineering Survey of the multi storey blocks listed above to determine any defects to the structures. This is to include a survey of each elevation and a detailed inspection of each balcony, where there is one.

2Where loose materials / defects are a specific health and safety risk these should be removed where it is safe to do so.

3A detailed condition report along with proposals and recommendations for dealing with the defects. This shall include a brief description of the blocks and their construction type and will include a location plan (1:1250) as well as photographs, any necessary drawings and details to an appropriate scale.

A detailed report will be required for each block or group of blocks detailing any defects and cross referencing these to a schedule, photographs and drawings. All drawings and photographs to be cross referenced and annotated to detail the exact location and extent of each observed defect and in the case of balconies to have in addition to the above extruded drawings.

The report is to clearly set down all defects prioritising these on a risk basis (traffic light system) such as urgent repair, short / medium repairs. These should also be shown in a risk matrix (schedule format) highlighting the risks.

The report should also set out proposals and recommendations for dealing with the defects in accordance with the risk analysis.

Tenderers are required to complete and return the attached documents.
