MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF

COMMISSIONERS OF THE TOWNSHIP OF HADDON, IN THE

COUNTY OF CAMDEN, NEW JERSEY, HELD FEBRUARY 25, 2014

IN THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING AT 7:00 PM.

A regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Township of Haddon was convened in the Municipal Building, 135 Haddon Avenue, Westmont, NJ on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at 7:00 PM.

Mayor Teague requested all stand for the flag salute.

Mayor Teague announced that Chapter 231, Public Law 1975 requires adequate notice of this meeting be provided. This was done by placing Annual Notice in the Courier-Post and Retrospect Newspapers and by posting on two bulletin boards in the Municipal Building.

Eric Riso, Esq., Greg Fusco, PE, Mark Cavallo, James Stevenson, Martin Blaskey, Lee Palo, Ed Toussaint, Betty Band and Kate Burns were also present.

Commissioner Foley moved, seconded by Commissioner Dougherty that the Minutes of the Caucus Meeting held on February 18, 2014 be approved, with all members voting in the affirmative.

The Mayor and Commissioners presented a Proclamation to Ted Jackson for his retirement. The Proclamation was read by Commissioner Foley.

ORDINANCES:

At the request of the Mayor, the Clerk read the following Ordinance by title:

#1316 – ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF HADDON, COUNTY OF CAMDEN

AND STATE OF NEW JERSEY AMENDING CHAPTER 175 OF THE CODE OF

THE TOWNSHIP OF HADDON ENTITLED “PEACE AND GOOD ORDER”

Commissioner Foley moved, seconded by Commissioner Dougherty that the aforementioned ordinance introduced at this time be approved on the first reading and remain on file with the Clerk for public inspection until the public hearing thereon and further consideration thereof which will be on March 25, 2014, in the Municipal Building. The Clerk was further directed to publish said ordinance together with the notice of such hearing in the manner required by law in the Retrospect Newspaper and also to post copies on the bulletin boards in the Municipal Building prior to the second reading and make copies available to the general public of the Township who shall request same.

There being no further business on the agenda, Commissioner Foley moved to open the meeting to the public, seconded by Commissioner Dougherty, with all members voting in the affirmative.

John Kendall, 120 Washington Avenue - Mr. Kendall reported that there would be a fundraiser on March 15, 2014 for the Haddon Township Crew Club in conjunction with Franco’s Place. The Fundraiser will be from 4 PM until 8 PM. He would be selling his Kennedy Reagan Book and all proceeds for that day will be donated to Haddon Township Crew Club and Franco’s will also be donating 10% of their sales to the Haddon Township Crew Club that day. Mr. Kendall proceeded to handout fliers for the fundraiser.

Ron Ostertag, 815 E. Elmer Street, Vineland – Mr. Ostertag requested an informal update on the Westmont Theatre Restoration Project. Mayor Teague responded that the Township is in a Redevelopment Agreement with LazGor Group and they are in their due diligence period and once the time period is up there is a possibility of an extension of that agreement. LazGor has done some Engineering Evaluations of the Building. Mayor Teague further responded that LazGor met with the State to see what can be done to the building and how it can be done.

There being no further comments, Commissioner Foley moved to close the meeting to the public, seconded by Commissioner Dougherty, with all members voting in the affirmative.

There being no further business to discuss, Commissioner Foley moved, seconded by Mayor Teague that the meeting be adjourned at 7:16 PM with all members voting in the affirmative.
