Celebrating the proud heritage that all Americans share, the Exchange Club of (your town) will (dedicate/rededicate) a Freedom Shrine at (location, time and date) and invites the public to attend.

The Freedom Shrine, sponsored by the National Exchange Club, is a collection of photographic reproductions of original documents from American history. The display includes the Bill of Rights, the Mayflower Compact, the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.

The Freedom Shrine program is designed to remind Americans that the freedom and greatness we enjoy today were not purchased easily and that these gifts must be cherished and protected. More than 12,000 Freedom Shrines have been dedicated in schools, military installations and government buildings since the program began in 1949.

WHAT IS THE MONROE DOCTRINE?

How much do you know about American history? Many students today know too little, and more need to be inspired by the past. The Exchange Club of (your town) is sponsoring a Milestones of Freedom contest among (name of school) students. The purpose is to get young adults thinking about our great American history and traditions. Students will be tested on what they learn from studying the Exchange Club Freedom Shrine, a collection of authentic copies of America’s most significant historical documents, located at (name of location). The program is designed to stimulate a renewed interest in our country’s history and traditions.

The test is scheduled for (day, date, time), and will be given at (place). In addition to studying the Freedom Shrine, each participating student will receive a comprehensive booklet containing additional information about the Freedom Shrine documents which can be used as an additional study aid.
