Driving Policy as of 11-8-2016

Our policy for driving is this: If adults (persons older than 18 years of age) are traveling, they travel at their own risk. In the event of children (persons younger than 18 years of age) traveling, the following conditions must be met. Parents and legal guardians will be responsible for their children and they will assume all risks.

The following rules apply for transporting individuals that are not family members. For Mission Trip events, an individual is allowed to drive youth if the following conditions are met:

1.They are 21 or over and:

2.Their valid drivers license and current proof of insurance are photocopied and on file.

3.They meet the guidelines for being a chaperone.

4.They have the event leader’s approval.

5.They have the permission slips for the youth in their car with them.

6.An 18-year-old youth may drive if there are not sufficient adult drivers. They must have a clean license, meet the previous guidelines and the event is within 18 miles of the church. They may not travel on freeways.

7.If a 15-passenger van is rented, to be in compliance with church insurance, no youth will sit beyond the rear axle, and the back seat will be removed.
