Schmersal shows innovative solutions for machine safety at the all about automation 2015

Visit Schmersal from the 11 to 12 March 2015 at the all about automation in Dortmund, Hall 8, Stand: 200

Wuppertal / Dortmund, 11 March 2015. This is the first time for Schmersal, the international market and competence leader in the field of machine safety, to present solutions, applications and innovations for the safety of automated machinery and equipment at the all about automation in Dortmund.

PROTECT PSC1: Programmable, modular and multifunctional

The safety controller PROTECT PSC1 consists of freely programmable compact PLCs with IO extension modules for signal processing of mechanical and electronic safety switchgear. It is not only compact and modular in design, but also extremely flexible. The PSC1 has the advantage that only one single piece of hardware is required to establish a connection with all common fieldbus systems. This saves space, reduces storage costs and increases flexibility in the application.

Solenoid interlock AZM 300

Schmersal presents a new concept for solenoid interlocks with the AZM 300. The outstanding, patented operating principle with rotating shaft and capstan handle is one of the unique features of the AZM 300. The advantage is that the safety door, can be pulled-to and held with practically no free-play. Another advantage of
AZM 300 is the manipulation protection with high levels of encoding. This is made possible by the integration of RFID technology in the safety sensor. The series is extended with versions that have an emergency exit or alternatively emergency release to safeguard accessible hazardous areas.

Safety sensor series with RFID technology: RSS 16 and RSS 260

When the RSS 16 the identification of the target is without contact by using the RSS technology developed by Schmersal: A technical safety modified RFID signal is responsible for communication between the transmitter and receiver.

This technique creates the conditions that the user can select between three different encoding options for the RSS 16 - the advantage is a higher manipulation protection.

The safety sensor RSS260 can be used universally for position monitoring of safety doors on equipment and handling technology, and is especially suitable for compact designs and smaller safety doors.Other characteristics of the RSS260 includes the possibility to connect several safety sensors in series and evaluate them with a single chip.

Modular position switch and safety function: PS 116

They are extremely compact, very robust and extremely versatile. The properties of these new Position Switches PS 16 are aimed at a wide range of applications across all disciplines of the machine and equipment manufacturers: For Automation, Safety Applications and for Elevator Technology. The dimensions of the PS 116 are smaller than the standard switch. This allows the user to install them in confined spaces to monitor the position or presence of moving parts, workpieces or conveyed materials.
