Reliable Online Measurement of Bromine
JUMO tecLine Br sensors with analog and digital capability
JUMO is expanding its product range of membrane-covered amperometric sensors for liquid analysis within the framework of completing its portfolio of digital sensors. A new feature of the JUMO tecLine Br is a bromine sensor for general water disinfection.
Bromine is a halogen that is exceptionally well-suited for disinfecting aqueous media. It is effective against bacteria, viruses, and fungi while at the same time removing pollutants in water through oxidation. The disinfection effect is only slightly weaker than with chlorine. Using bromine significantly reduces irritations for eyes and mucous membranes. Bromine has a higher pH tolerance and, in contrast to chlorine, still works very well at ph values around 8.
The new JUMO tecLine Br sensors are used for measuring the bromine concentration. They distinguish themselves through a proven measuring system, easy calibration, and integrated temperature compensation. A digital interface allows the new bromine sensor to be integrated into the JUMO digiLine analysis sensor network.
One variant with standard signal 4to20mA enables use with conventional display and control devices. The construction of the sensor is equivalent to the proven, membrane-covered amperometric measuring cells from JUMO. In addition, the same accessories (such as a multi-fitting) can be used.
Measurement, dosing, and recording devices for bromine can be found in the JUMO AQUIS touch S and P controller families as well as the JUMO mTRON T automation system. The variant with 4to20mA can also be connected to the AQUIS 500 AS or JUMO dTRANS AS02 devices.
