ELEMENTARY EDUCATION (K-6)
General Information:
The Teacher Education Program at UCCS leads to initial licensure in elementary teaching in the fields of English, Spanish, Biology, History, or Geography and Environmental Studies.
Elementary education teachers teach pupils in public or private schools at the elementary level instilling students with basic academic, social, and other formative skills that will determine the child’s self-esteem and vision of the world. They are also a determining factor in the child’s successes later in life.
Career Possibilities:
The K-6 Education program is geared specifically towards either elementary school or middle school teaching careers. However, related occupations include:
