COURSE OVERVIEW: This course continues with the standards driven

approach to language skill development. It offers to

students a new emphasis on vocabulary, language, and

daily-life culture as well as Hispanic literature and

civilization. Students are expected to communicate in

Spanish as much as possible.An improvement in

writing skills is also a main goal of the course.

CLASS MATERIALS: You will need the following materials in class this year.

-a three ring binder or notebook/folder

-Realidades Dos: the Spanish textbook

Here is a review of our rules and expectations for Spanish class, designed so that we might enjoy a safe and productive learning environment.

  • Arrive on time: If you are not on time you must present a pass signed by

the office or a faculty member. If you do not present a

pass, you will receive a detention.

  • No hats: No hats are to be worn by either boys or girls while in the

classroom. If you are wearing a hat while in class, you will

receive a detention.

  • No electronics: This includes but is not limited to: cell phones, pagers,

blackberries, videogames, mp3 players, etc. If you are caught with any of these items while in class, they will be

confiscated and you will receive a detention.

  • No disrupting class: If you disrupt class in any way (e.g. talking, not staying on task, swearing, etc.) you will receive a detention.
  • Cheating/ Forgery/ Plagiarism: If you cheat, forge, or plagiarize, you will

receive a zero grade for the assignment. Using an online

translator is considered cheating!!

  • Bathroom and/or Nurse: You may ask for a pass to go to the bathroom

and/ or the nurse at the very beginning of each class and the

very end of each class. You may not interrupt in the middle

of class to ask to use the bathroom or go to the nurse unless

it is an emergency.
