6b.If you have indicated above that a product falls into a product group* please use the space below to give your reasons, with a clear description of the differences referring to the model numbers.
* BRE Global use the product group principle to determine the amount of work it is likely to take to conduct the technical evaluation, based on the assumption that test reports and technical documentation for products within the group are likely to be similar, and so less work will be needed. This is taken into account as we reduce the cost of having additional products within a group (£850 for the first product within a group and £210 for each additional product).
Please be aware that testing of every product within the group is required, unless there is sound engineering reasoning to show that the products will perform in an identical way under test conditions. This can vary depending on the test in question. Some Biomass test standards identify rules for testing products within a family group. Please see the applicable standard for details.
If you are applying for products where there is sound engineering reasoning to demonstrate that they will perform in an identical way under test conditions (for example, where the differences are cosmetic only, or you can apply a family grouping principle as identified in the applicable Biomass test standard) please indicate this below.
7. Details of the test laboratory – Product testing should ideally be conducted at an accredited test facility; in which case we will conduct an assessment of full test reports in accordance with MCS 011 clause 2. Please submit full test reports to cover every model that you are applying for in this respect.
Alternatively, we can assess an unaccredited test facility if required, in accordance with MCS 011 clauses 3/4/5.
7a. Laboratory 1 – Name and Address:
Does the test facility hold UKAS or equivalent accreditation? (See MCS 011 clause 2) (Please give the name of the accreditation organisation (e.g. UKAS) and accreditation number or send their Certificate as evidence. The certificate should show the appropriate test standard in the scope)
Is the test facility a third party, unaccredited test facility? (see MCS 011 clause 3)
Is this the manufacturer’s own test facility? (MCS 011 clause 4/5)
7b. Laboratory 2 – Name and Address:
Does the test facility hold UKAS or equivalent accreditation? (See MCS 011 clause 2) (Please give the name of the accreditation organisation (e.g. UKAS) and accreditation number or send their Certificate as evidence. The certificate should show the appropriate test standard in the scope)
Is the test facility a third party, unaccredited test facility? (see MCS 011 clause 3)
Is this the manufacturer’s own test facility? (MSC 011 clause 4/5)
8. Test Reports
8a. Please send us all of the relevant test reports and give details below.
Every product that you are applying for should be tested to at least one of the standards below (as specified in MCS 008), unless there is sound engineering reasoning to show that the products will perform in an identical way under test conditions.
a) BS EN 13240:2001+A2:2004 - Room heaters fired by solid fuel. Requirements and test methods
b) BS EN 14785:2006 - Residential space heating appliances fired by wood pellets. Requirements and test methods. This can be used for boilers and roomheaters in and out of living space.
c) BS EN 12809:2001+A1:2004 - Residential independent boilers fired by solid fuel. Nominal heat output up to 50 kW Requirements and test methods
d) BS EN 303-5:1999 Heating boilers - Part 5: Heating boilers for solid fuels, hand and automatically fired, nominal heat output of up to 300kW. Terminology, requirements, testing and marking.
Model(s) / Test Report Number / Please state the applicable test standard (a / b / c or d from above)
