WHAT TO BRING AND NOT TO BRING TO THE TESTING CENTER

1.  You MUST bring your State of Florida ID or Florida Driver License.

2.  Bring Proof of your Social Security # (if you have one).

3.  DO NOT BRING ANYTHING ELSE. All pencils, papers, and calculators are provided.

4.  NO CELL PHONES, BEEPERS, or CAR ALARMS - If they go off during testing, your test will be VOIDED; you will need to leave the testing room and reschedule your test for another time.

5.  NO personal items such as purses, book bags, hats, food, etc. are permitted. (Leave them in your car.)

TESTING DAY

1.  You MUST BE ON TIME. If the door is closed, you are late. DO NOT KNOCK. Late arrivals will not be permitted to test. Go around to the back door to the GED Office so you can reschedule.

2.  You MUST BRING your FLORIDA ID/DRIVER LICENSE, or you will not be permitted to test.

3.  Science, Social Studies, and Reading are given on the first day of testing. Writing/Essay and Math are given on the next day. Testing will take approximately 4 ½ hours each day. You will be allowed to leave if you finish early.

4.  A short break will be given between tests, but you must remain indoors. ( Saturday testers will be given a ½ hour lunch break.)

CHANGING YOUR APPOINTMENT

1.  You may ONLY RESCHEDULE 1 TIME AT NO CHARGE. After the FIRST time, you must repay.

2.  If you cannot keep your testing appointment, you must call the GED Testing Center at least 24 hours in advance. Otherwise, you will need to go back to the location where you originally paid for the test, reschedule, and pay again. To change your appointment, call the GED Testing Center in advance at (754) 322 - 9941 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Mon – Fri. You must receive a confirmation number validating the change. (Please do not leave a message)

3.  TESTING FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

OBTAINING YOUR TEST SCORES

1.  To receive a passing score on the GED Test, an overall minimum total score of 2250 is required, and a minimum score of 410 is needed to pass each subtest. Both minimum requirements must be met in order to pass the Ged Test. (Example: A total score of 2500 and a score of 380 on one of the subtests is a failing score.)

2.  Scoring takes approximately 6 to 8 weeks. To receive your scores, contact the school where you PAID for the test. The GED Center is not permitted to give scores over the phone. Please contact your teacher/school if you do not hear anything after 8 weeks.

3.  To request corrections on your diploma/transcript, to request duplicate transcripts/diplomas or to ask questions regarding scores, please contact the GED Testing Office or your school.

RE-TAKING A PORTION OF THE TEST

If you have to retake a portion or portions of the test, you need to return to the school where you

originally signed up in order to reregister. The same requirements apply to all testers. Each

subtest costs $10.
