Your TEPTO board has been real busy planning the annual Spring Fling. Spring Fling will be on June 7th from 10-2 at TIS! It is sure to be a fun day for all with so many things to do! We will have TWO bounce houses, a food tent with hamburgers, cheeseburgers and hot dogs, the ever famous Dunk Tank where kids can dunk their principals, a Tolland Fire Truck and S.W.A.T. vehicle to explore, popcorn, cotton candy, pretzels, snow cones, games, crafts, face painting, cupcake decorating, and our book nook where you can stock up on summer reading for you and the kids! This year we will be have an Ole’ Fashion Bake Sale selling cakes, pies, cookies, brownies and so much more. Room parents will shortly be assembling classroom baskets for our raffle tables – there is always a great assortment of themed baskets – don’t miss it.

Keep a look out lots of fliers will be coming home shortly about the Spring Fling.

Colleen Yudichak,

A family day is planned for Sunday July 27th for the 1:35pm Rock Cats game! Fliers have been sent home for discounted tickets. Kids will have a chance to run the bases after the game! Also, the grade that sells the most tickets will get their photo taken on the field with “Rocky”, the Rock Cat mascot!!

Mileage Club

Birch Grove

Kim Santini,

Parents of First and Second Graders:
Help is needed for Mileage Club at Birch Grove!

What is Mileage Club? It is a running/walking program for first and second graders that takes place during recess. Students who choose to participate in Mileage Club are given a punch card. They can run (or walk) around the recess field and earn one hole punch on their card for every lap done. As they complete cards, they earn toe tokens and other fun prizes. The kids get excited to see their cards fill up, and it’s a great way to encourage them to be active. However, we can’t run this popular program without volunteers!

How can you help? All it takes is 30 minutes per week of your time. As a volunteer, you will meet the children on the recess field, hand out their cards, and then stand at the designated “start” spot and hole-punch their cards for them as they complete their laps. It’s easy and fun, and it’s also a great way to get to see your child at school! Younger siblings are welcome.

We are looking for help during the following times on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. We are flexible, you can sign up to come a few days a week, weekly, bi-weekly or once a month based on your availability. You can also sign up to be a substitute, and we will contact you if we are short- handed.

First grade:

11:30 – 12:00 (Gonzalez, McDonald, Madigan, S. Moynihan)

12:00 – 12:30 (Beaulieu, Bretz, J. Moynihan, Young)

Second Grade:

12:35 – 1:05 (Grotton, Wasco, Ober, Rallo)

1:05 – 1:35 (Barna, Fuller, Semrow, Little)

Mileage Club is held until mid-November, and then again from mid-April through June. There is no Mileage Club during the winter months.

If interested, or for more information, please contact Kim Santini at 860-655-8905 or with your available day and time.
